Okay im getting ready to start my first grow and I want to get the most yield possible im growing under a 1000 watt light in a 6x6x6 tent. Im trying to find the best technique possible for me to get a lot of Bud in fast time. Ive been told that I should be able to get atleast a pound of bud, but how many plants would that take doing the sea of green method and are there any other techniques then the sea of green I can use?
Can someone please explain the SOG technique to me please?

yea .. agree ... also seems to me that reading would be your best choise right now .. do a lot of research .. and you might be able to pull a pound after a few trys ..
after all it is you who is surpose to grow it ... I cant do it from here .. I like to help .. but get the basic in place fist please ..

I would think the good space you got and the good penetrations of a 1K HPS would inspire to grow a bit taller/bigger plants ..
but I guess its a question of tast .. want to use 30 seeds and haverst in 10 weeks or use 8 seeds and haverst in 14 weeks ..
but tell me what kind of medium are you growing in ? and what kind of nutriens do you have ?
and did you make sure you have a big enough ventilation to keep that 1K light cool and a carbon filter to remove the stink ?

If your looking for high yeild and fast turn around then SOG is the way to go. You can do a search for SOG grows and find many people doing one and lots of information on how to do it. Ill give you a crash course but do more research before you go through with it.
Basically, SOG grows require you to have a mother plant to produce clones. Cloning allows you to grow the same phenotype plant ensuring all plants are identical, allowing for same growth rates, even canopy, same nute requirement (good if using hydro) etc. If you dont have a mother plant i suggest you start growing one. It needs to be big enough to produce the amount of clones needed. Also if your not familiar with cloning, start practicing.
Once you have a mother capable of producing clones, start cloning. Using data from my past grows, you can get about 10g to 17g a plant in a sog. to produce a pound id say you will need a minimum of atleast 45 rooted clones.
I use 6 inch pots = 4 plants per sq foot. Using one side of your grow space, make a 2x6 grow table. This will give you 12 sq ft = 48 plants. Depending on growing enviorment, your skill level, nutes etc. lets say you get 10g per plant (low end of my past results). This will give you 480 g. A little over a pound but you can use the buffer.
The idea is to grow lots of plants close together so you will be harvesting just main colas. this maximizes your grow space. No veg time (using clones) means a faster turn around. There are some trimming techniques you should learn to reduce under growth and side branching.
Now make another 2x6 grow table and start another batch of 48 clones and time it so that one month into your first grow you start to flower a second 2x6 table. This will give you another 480 g a month after you harvest the first batch. Keep it going so you get a little over a pound every month.
Clones usually take 10 to 14 days to root so you want to start cloning two weeks before you wanna start your sog.
I also suggest chosing a pure indica strain or atleast an indica dominant strain and using a hydro system to make watering alot easier.

do you have your set up already?
id recommend an 8x8 or 10x10 tent set up with 4 x 600w and 8" exhaust use the cheap 4ft x 4ft extrasun reflectors no glass no vents needed
depending on strain put 16 (super lemon haze) a light.
SLH in coco feed advanced nutrients with an 8 week flower and 1 week flush gives you a minimum 1.5 lbs a light
feed heavy and watch that pH!
Im growing in organic soil medium and if i where to grow them big and tall how long would the veg period be?
