Sterilite Storage Bin Stealth Grow, first time grower.

yup, once the roots start to take it will be transplants to a different container, i just dont have any small solo cups to put these in, i think this container will be fine for a few days.
Gonna pick up the small solo cups that can fit about 1 or 2 gulps of water after work.

Its not that wet though, only 1/2 of the top soil is moist. I built this for soil, im not going to just drop it and rebuild for a hydro set up.

That is a typical newbie mistake and we've all done that... with soil, you don't just water a little bit at a time, and often, so only the top 1/2 stays wet. That will lead to all kinds of problems. You're supposed to thoroughly saturate the soil and then do not water again at all untill it's almost completely dried out or leaves start to droop, then thoroughly saturate it again. I started with soil too, but trust me, you will be doing yourself a huge favor going to a hempy bucket type container. Build at least 1 or 2 milk jugs like I suggested and at least try it out. You can get an 8-quart bag of Miracle Gro (non-fertilized) Perlite at Home Depot or Lowes for $4, and that will do 2 milk jugs. Do 2 soil and 2 hempy side by side and compare. 100% perlite is impossible to over water! and perlite is much easier and cleaner to work with than soil.

Another thing you could do is just fill the bottom 8-10" or so of your bottom tub with perlite, put a 1/4" nylon hose barb fitting through the front of the tub about 1" to 1-1/2" from the bottom. Then put a catch pan under the hose barb when you water to catch the run off.

I know soil seems like the safest and easiest way to start, but it's really not. Hempy containers are just like soil containers, you just water more often and they grow way faster.

Another problem I see, is it looks like your lights are in a fixed position? that's no good, you need to be able to move them up and down, or even side to side when the colas grow up towards the very top of your container, and you need to have them very close to the seedlings, the distance those lights are from that seedling, it's gonna stretch like a mother.

Home now, the seedling looks more green then yellow, but its still droopy and feels like its loose inside of the rapid rooter.

well stop poking it
and if u squeezed it like was mentioned stop
resist the temptation to mess with them

i squeezed the bottom half of the rooter, not near the sproutling itself. Leaves still havent split apart, pic incoming.

Here she is.

Should i keep her at 24 hours of light for the night or continue as planned for my 18/6. Lights off from 3 am to 9 am

the rapid rooter doesnt really turn dark once its absorbed water, i sprayed her down just now with a mist, misted directly on to the rooter itself. What do you think about the light situation, 24 hours until she starts to get roots growing or 18/6?

i would do 24

I did a 24 hr until after 2 weeks. Then I put to 18/6. Tonight is 17/7. Gonna add an hour of darkness each day. Till were at 12/12.

mk, i sprayed the sides of the cube with a mister until she felt moist, probably coulda lasted longer had i not squeezed the water out. Even just getting this far has been a learning experience.

it will amaze u at first
and cant beat the joy of something u produced yourself

I agree, if this little girl doesnt make it through im going to start the next one the same way i germed but instead of doing that stupid potting soil that dried and hardened on me over night ill put her straight in to one of these rapid rooters, im sure i stressed it slightly by taking it out of the soil and going in to the rooter. Hoping she perks up through the night with all the light on her.

them rooters work good for starting seeds
hope tomm it has spread out leaves

i agree, well see when i wake up ill take a peek to check the temperatures and humidity, been steady at around 40% humidity and ill give her a misting again if the medium is dried out again.

Nothings happened over night, the leaves havent spread out at all, however when i look closer I can see the first set of real leaves starting to develop, not 100% sure of those were there before and I just didnt see them or not. Sprayed the rooter down with water.

Is there such a thing as the sproutling just not growing anymore without changing color etc? I guess I just assumed that if the sproutling was stunted and stopped growing then it would dry out etc.
