I've always been afraid of using foil as I've heard it causes hot-spots. I guess I could give it a try though. I would like to protect the soil. I was kind of lazy and didn't cover my carpet in the room with anything, so I mixed up a concentrate of the Azamax in a spray bottle and treated the carpet inside of the carpet and out in the room. Hopefully that will help kill any of the buggers in my carpet. I used the steam cleaner first though - not sure if it will help or not, but figured it couldn't hurt. I had a friend ask why I couldn't just mix up some of the azamax in the water and fill the steam cleaner up with that solution? It doesn't sound like a bad idea, but I don't want to leave a bunch of Azamax residue in the steam cleaner.... pretty sure my wife would shit a brick.

OHhh, and I'm going to start using the ChaChing on my next feeding. It says to use in the last 2 weeks of flower before flush. I hope I'm not that close yet becuase my buds haven't really started filling out, but I think it will be ok to go ahead and start now. I'm just going to be super careful with it, starting with a really weak concentrate, and work my way up to the reccommended dosing instructions. I will monitor very closely the first couple of times I use it and immediately flush if I see any negative indicators. It always scares me to add a new product when everything is going so smoothly. But - the worst that can happen is I burn up some leaves and have to flush... I can live with that, as this run is really to kill my curiousity about autoflowering cannabis.

JUst drying a Afghan kush rider now and it lived up to the sales description,. I grow with CFL and got a plant about 1.5 feet tall And a huge main bud ! The smoke is a great rep to sfghan kush tast and high.They says about 21% THC, not quit but close! Vary happy with grow. And As MDEVA said you got to go past there 50 day grow. The kush went 60+ days to finnish ,and i have a Blue still going and its going to be over 70 days to finnish her.If you like blueberry verieties youll love the Blue Mammoth.Wow what a stronge blueberry smell and totaly frosted with now milky tric's. a test has her being very tasty with a good punch.
I must say this is the best thread i have read so far for nubbie auto growing and has helped me alot.I dont usualy grow autos, but ill get a pic of the blueberry up here when shes close....peace and bong hits for all!!!!

@mdeva -just crinkle the foil up before using it,your light shouldnt reflect that much since your plants are filling out, they live off the algae,Im sure you have some on the soil ,cover it with something,shit you can even just use some newspaper if you want,yea I like cha ching too,helps with trichomes,and you can run it alone if you want,I usually use 1/4 tsp with other nutes just fine,next run keep your soil covered from the start and you wont have any issues

like I said be careful bringing that bubble plant back in,spider mites love our plants,I would spray em with the azamax in the shade a couple days before bringing them in,spider mites thrive in this hot weather,they hate humidity though

@ superjoint. I'm not sure if there's algae in my soil or not. I did have these gnats in a previous grow, but that was my fault. There weren't even any drainage holes in the container I was using. Had bad root rot and fungus gnats. That was a while ago. I thought I had eradicated them and waited long enough to use this closet. I'm thinking they got into the carpet and lived there until I introduced some more plants into the room and that's when they migrated. Now I guess the little fuckers are trying to eat my roots. Little do they know I got the cure - and they're going DOWN!!! That is definitely good advice about treating the Bubblelicious before bringing her back inside; infact, it's exactly what I told my friend who adopted her. He has her in a small grow box now, which is isolated from his 4x4 600 watt room. She will stay there until she can prove to be absolutely 100% bug free. Introducing bugs into that room is the one thing neither one of us want, as that's where the REAL plants are, LOL. I swapped out the yellow sticky traps in the room, and haven't seen any more of the adults on them since the first application of Azamax. BUT I am not complacent... I know the little ninjas could still be in hiding, so I'm going to keep applying the stuff until it's unsafe to do so (closer to harvest). Anyways - thanks for the responses.

@ Allenbud - I guess it's just an advertising scheme when Seedbanks & Breeders claim 60 days from seed to harvest. But maybe I just got a weird pheno. My plants are around 45 days old now, and I think they still have a month to go - BARE MINIMUM! They have surprised me though in their growth rate, so maybe they will finish in the next 15 or 20 days. I hope not, because the buds I have now would need to quadruple in size to be worthwhile. That's why I'm going to start with the ChaChing - it's a bulking formula and hopefully it will live up to its reputation. My "Short" Ryder is definitely not so SHORT. She's at least 3' tall, if not 3.5' right now, and continously getting bigger. I'm going to have to tie down the main cola if she doesn't cut it out, because I'm running out of vertical space for her to grow.

yea,those gnats' larvae will get into your roots,Im in hydro and have seen them little bastards living it up on the roots,which then cause root rot,just keep your soil covered I guarantee you wont have a problem,it looks like in your one pic I see a little green on the soil surface,thats where the algae grows,it needs light and water....

@superjoint - Yeah next time I will keep the soil covered. I think I found my problem. I think the "green on top of the soil" was just a camera glitch. After I read that I looked closer at the picture I posted & I see what you're talking about. BUT when I looked at the plant in person, no such color / algae growth was actually on the surface. I've also noticed the camera on my phone makes everything look a little yellow instead of lush green. Anyways - back to finding out what the problem is (WAS)... I wasn't neccessarily over-watering my plants, but I didnt' wait long enough for them to drain off completely. I always water until I see water run-off in the saucer, the problem was when I moved the plant to it's new saucer it was still dripping a little bit. This water was sitting underneath the pot in the saucer. I don't know how many times I could have done that, but this time when I picked the plant up (dry, straight out of the closet) to water her up - the little puddle in the tray had those fuckers in it. Granted they were all dead, but still - that makes perfect sense!!! That's where the excess water, or "fungus gnat breeding pool" was hiding. I'm glad the problem didn't get any worse before I corrected it! Thanks for the advice buddy!

Anyways, here's an update on how they're doing tonight:

First off, the taller one is 43". I didn't measure the shorter one, but my guess is she's somewhere around 34-37" tall now. They are both pretty healthy - but they are a little stretchy. I'm not sure if that's the genes, or something I've done, but the light has only been 4" above them the whole time, so I'm leaning towards genetics. Then again, it could be the fact that they're in a small closet that's only 2' deep, so the side branches grow out and then straight up to get to the top of the canopy. So I guess that is probably my fault, but I'm growing with the space & genes that I have, so it'll just have to do. They started to show pistils right around day 20, and they're 45 days old now, so I figure they're 3 weeks & 4 days into flower. Between days 30 & 40 they literally MORE THAN TRIPLED in size. The bigger one is pretty much hogging the light now. The smaller girl is by no means neglected, but she is definitely on the back burner for now. I was thinking about making her entirely into either hash or some edibles.... enough rambling - here's some pictures. Let me know what you think....

no problem,I wish I had a little help when I first started ,I did alot of trial and error,found some info here too,but most I learned on my own,and I garden outside-veggies only though,your girls look good for a 250w setup,but it doesnt seem like most of these autos get very dense buds from the pics Ive seen so far.Im gonna switch my short nepali's over to a 12/12 schedule soon,attitiude recommends it for that strain for denser buds,plus I dont need any more height on them at this point.Short Nepali is suppost to be able to finish in 45 days on a 12/12 cycle from seed,but I wanted a little more bud from them,so Im gonna switch them in a couple weeks,they are already 30 days old at least,just starting to preflower on a 18/6 cycle,the bubblelicious doesnt seem to be filling out bud wise so far compared to a regular pheno.

I can't wait to see the Nepali's. How old is the Bubblelicious? I started one Bubblelicious with the Short Riders, but had to give it away becuase the S.R.'s got so much bigger than I expected. I'm finally getting some trich development. Question for you - when you calculate how long you've been in flower, do you start from the day that you saw the first pistils, or do you go by when you actually got some small dime sized bud sites all over the plant? If you count from the day you saw first pistil development, that would mean I'm like 4 weeks into flower... and that seems crazy. Especially given the size of what I've got. I don't know... I'm probably overthinking it - but it doesn't seem like she's going to have time to fill out very much - hopefully she goes closer to 80 or 90 days then 60. She is stinking pretty good. I LOVE walking in the door after a long day of work and being greeted by such an intoxicating aroma... nothing else compares to that feeling.

I would say flowering starts when you actually have some of the first buds,thats what I always go by,since pistils are just showing the sex of the plant.My bubblelicious is alomst 40 days now,but I didnt journal anything ,but Im not too impressed yet with these autos as far as the buds filling in,at least for the bubblelicious strain,they grow at a great rate,but it seem like the buds should be swelling up more for their age ,usually once I get flowers,a couple weeks later they are starting to swell,these are just getting more pistils right now and yours should be more swollen by now too I would think, so I might go with attitude's suggestion,and switch the nepalis over to 12/12 to get more dense buds,thats the only strain I found they recommend doing it to,I dont see the bubble finishing in 60-70 days though ,thats not gonna happen.I thought auto's were suppost to finish faster that a regular pheno strain,only time will tell I guess. I might put some pics up,Im just not that comfortable doing that myself

This was kinda a curiousity run for me too,Im ready to do some clones now,Ive a got a new mother almost ready for cuttings its a cheese plant,and she is very hardy looking,cheese is suppost to be one the most popular in canada and uk right now,I hear its very strong and stinky

My buds are starting to swell a bit, but I agree they should be further along. I was actually considering 12/12 for a week or so to see if I can tell any difference. I did cut back on the nitrogen to slow her stretch down and it seemed to help some. My friend is growing Cheesy Dick next. Gross name but looks like it'll be great smoke.

Ok, so I'm rounding the corner towards the home stretch now. I'm going to hopefully bring in an expert for a second opinion, but buds are filling out a lot more, and A FEW pistols are changing to orange. Sometime in the next 10 days I'm going to flush & sit back to watch them put on weight & finish out their lives. Would like to get a good two week flush minimum, because these girls were heavy eaters. Should be able to harvest in next 3-4 weeks. Not real frosty yet, but just started seeing some trichome development recently, and see more & more every day... Hopefully she will finish out nicely. Will provide picture update Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. Peace guys.

you want all the pistols to be orange,Im gonna be pissed if I dont have a shitload of trichomes,all my plants have always had alot.mine are starting to fill out a little more,but Im still not impressed with these autos for indoor use.I think they would be great for outdoor grows to have some early summer smoke.I did see some strains on attitude that are suppost to be heavy yielders, but yea next res change out Im gonna switch to 12/12 as attitude suggest for my nepalis to see if they finish a little faster and get some density,like I said they claim they finish in 45 days on a 12/12,but I dont think it would yield much on that cycle the whole way through,once a plant gets buds,its a matter of fattening them up,so I think 12/12 for the last couple of weeks should really speed them up so they finish faster,that was my reason to try autos ,for a fast finish,it seems they are pretty fast growers,but lacking a decent yield compared to regular phenos,yea cheese is suppost to be the shit,anything with cheese in it should be killer smoke.

do you have a microscope to check your trichomes?Im just curious if any of yours have gotten milky at all yet.also Ive heard that sledgehammer by Foxfarms is suppost to be a great flushing agent,my buddy loves it, its all natural made from a yucca extract,Im using AN final flush myself

Yours look awsome, & your explanation on growth has answered alot for me so thanks, my 1 female out of 6 female seeds was a bit of a shock to me but im trying to make the best of it & wont order from them again.. Im running 24 hrs on light now at wk 6 but its only started showing hairs about a wk ago, when should i cut the light down ???

Hey ladies & gents,

I have an Auto Blueberry fem thats popped up about 2 days ago. Just wondering if i can grow inside using a 100W 6500K CFL for a month, and then put outside in a larger pot i've already prepared with organic potting soil (No chemical nutes, some blood & bone, blood(bone?) meal, fish emultion & kelp/seaweed). Since i'm home alone now, and will be for about a month, but when everyone gets back they may not be happy about it being in the house so will have to move outside, plus the smell from flowering will add to concern.

Or should i just start and finish outside?
Another thing is it is late winter/early spring here so sunlight may not be very strong.

Autos want at least 18 hours of light, anything less and you may as well go photoperiod and go 12/12. You'll have to harden off your plants if you keep them indoors for a month as well.

What do you mean by 'harden off'?

And will the move from 18/6 to outdoors after a month be stressful or have any negative effects?
The reasoning for getting the auto's was to grow outdoors regardless of season + the harvest speed and size of the plant.
The only reason i'm considering putting it indoors for a month is because that option is now available since theres no one here, and if im not mistaken the increased light schedule will help.
If they will suffer from the change to outdoors after being indoors, then i'll just start them off outdoors
