NEED HELP!: Defiency of my Ak-47

As the title says, I have just noticed what looks to be a Potassium defiency. The leaves have small red dots all over. Those leaves that are infected have red stems too. I'm failry new to growing and this is the first time I encountered this problem. I would like some second opinions on what you all think that it is. I am growing in soil under a 4000w HPS and some CFL's for supplemental light. There is no problem with my OG#18 either. I fed the Ak-47 with some bloom nutes at 1/4 tsp of 15-30-15 to a gallon of water. The nutes are some generic shit from Walmart but it has worked well with other grows in the past. I'm growing in Miracle Grow soil too. I haven't really had the money to spend on better quality soil and nutes. Plus the nearest Hydro store is across town and only open on certain days for a few hours. That makes it hard for me to get there, since I work all week long.Anyways here are a few pics of the leaves that are infected with the dots like I said. Any help would be appreciated. Please don't start bashing MG soil and nutes. I don't want to here about ur thoughts on that subject. I just want to know what's up with my babie. Thanks up front to my fellow RIU peeps!

Cmon people! Help me out here. Any adice is welcome. Someone told me that they think its a Magnesium deficiency. What do you all think?

I'm growing in soil, so I don't check my ph. I did however get this gadget that you stick into your soil and it will tell you if your soils ph is in the right range by a color code. It says that my soil is ideal, but I don't know how accurate this thing is. It also has a switch, so it can tell you the fertility of your soil. My other plant the OG#18 is doing fine w/o any deficiencies. I flushed the Ak-47, the one with the problem, and I can't tell if the problem has gottten any worse or just stayed the same. I don't think it is something that is going to kill my plant but it could diminish my harvest. And I do not want that! Lol!

what kinda water are you using tap, r/o, etc.?

could be ph def as the generic chemical nutes and the mg soil can be acidic ive used it before...

actually using some mg organic choice right now but im def switching back to another soil once im done with this
mg works but others perform consistantly better as far as im concerned sry i know you said dont bring up the mg

oh and as far as the og 18 being ok i wonder if the chemdawg genetic roots have anything to do with that?

got 8 different strains goin right now and they can all be a little different and picky in their own way with the nutes and the nute ratios as im finding out lol

I'm using regular old tap water, and I have some botanicare Cal/Mag, Big Grow, and Big Bloom trio pack on the way that I bought online. Plus I'm going to get something to test my tap waters PH, but I haven't had this particular problem with my other grows. Maybe the Ak-47 is more finicky in that way. I will get it figured out, but I just wanted to here other people's thought. I don't use hardly any nutes with my MG soil and when I do it is only a couple times throughout the grow. Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it!

i agree its a potassium or manganese problem. would make sure your PH is ok and if so add more nutes. might have to get a manganese supplement

Well hopefully this Cal/Mag will fix the problem when I get it. Plus, I'm going to buy something to check my ph of my tap water, and if needed ph up and/or ph down.

Ok friends I went to the local Hydro store and bought some General Hydroponics PH Test Indicator Drops, so I could test my tap waters ph. The directions are as follows:
1. Fill test vial 1/2 full with solution to be tested.
2. Add 3-5 drops of ph test indicator to vial.
3. Tap the side of the vial to mix conyents.
4. Observe the color in the test vial.
The bottle of ph drops has a ph color code on the bottle to compare the color of the solution you just tested. According to my test my water has a ph of 7.0-7.5. According to the bottles ph chart the ideal ph is betweeen 5.5 and 6.5.

So my question is with my ph being 7-7.5, could that be causing my problems even though I am growing in soil?

I hav a few grows under my belt, and I have used the same tap water this whole time without this particular problem and having great results. That makes me think that the ph isn't really the problem. I could be wrong though.

its light burn. happens alot outside or if you spray water on the plants it magnfiies the light and burns it off. the red stemmed. or lower portion of a green stem leaf is just water leaves. nothing to worry about any ways. plant naturally ditches those and sucks all its energy before dropping it off as a self defence mech.

Personally I'd get a 2 litre bottle (ie old coke bottle), half fill it with fresh nutrient rich soil/compost, fill remained of the bottle with warm water. Add a generic mineral rich multivitamin tablet, and shake the lot vigorously. Leave it overnight, then use the solution as a tea, pour the lot evenly over the soil.

According to to your pics of problem plant leaves compared to mine looks like a Potassium and Magnesium deficiency. That's just my opinion along with a few others on here. I will have some Cal/Mag in the mail from FEDEX tomorrow, so I am hoping a small dose of that will start to fix the problem. If not I might just try this tea that you are talking about.
