My first car was a 67 Dodge Polara 4 door. Bought it for 75 bucks. What a cruiser...lost my virginity in that car...........
Your post gave me pause to reflect on my first car.
69 Cutlass convertible w/ a 442 hood & the 350 olds rocket engine.
Candy apple red w/ gold pen striping, craigers & tigerpaw's.
Sooo much young tang passed through that car in high school & beyond.
Most of it just "slightly used".

....If you look at the fall of the great Roman empire, the similarities are there. We convinced only OURSELVES that we are the most powerful, the unreachable, the undefeatable. Like the Romans we have consumed ourselves in our own gluttony, the only difference is we do it with the tools of the day. Our children are living in a Halo video game dream world. They dont even know where they truly are.
My 65K a year job as a Plant Manager is gone, replaced by a few shit jobs that dont pay the bills. My job isnt coming back, because there are no plants to manage. We sent them all to Indonesia and have the stupidity to wonder where they went. Now, nobody wants a 52 year old ex manager about to have his first heart attack. I've been interviewed by what looks to me to be 17 year old little girls asking me what I can do for them. I have to sell half of what I grow now just to pay a few bills. I never intended that, but I will do whatever it is I have to do. If I have to start stealing food to eat, I'll do that too, I think I can be really good at it.
My only kid graduated from college because I thought it was the right thing to do. Now, Sallie Mae wants $600.00 a month. If he gave it to them, he wouldnt be able to pay his rent, put gas in his car, or eat.

I'm not complaining mind you. I'll adjust to what is in front of me, and I'll do what I have to do to survive no matter what, and theres lots of people in this same boat, but its fucked up boys and girls. It's fucked up

Anyone can wrap some bud on a stick...but true thai sticks were then dipped in opium.

My brother in law got laid off from his 30 year job last year. Same story replaced him with a younger more energetic kid who was willing to work for a lot less money. Production is down 30% since then. He couldn't find another job in a similar position and after a year he started as a janitor for the federal govt for less than $10 an hour.

I'm usually the OG. Bought my first deuce, a $2 amount that would fit into a matchbox, in Detroit in 1964.
Snuck it home and pled sick on Sunday when everyone else was shanghaid to go to church. I smuggled an old
meerschaum pipe my old man had "lost" and sat down at the table with a plastic bucket to puke in if necessary.
I had never met anyone who had ever smoked and had no idea what I was doing. I'd read enough to know to
inhale and hold it in. I got through a bowl and a half before turning green. Never got sick. Never got high, far as
I knew. Saved the remaining 2/3 of the deuce and got hammered the next try, the next day.

Started dealing in 1968 when I got a chance to buy some hash pretty cheap. I paid $35 for a 1/4 oz., sold 5 grams for
$7 each and partied the other 2 gs. It was like finding money on the street. I could make money and product because
I had connections and a silver tongue. Caught a grand jury indictment in 1969 for sales of LSD to a nark in Grand Rapids.
Punk's name was Joe Lobazzatta and it took the Outlaws 3 years to get him. Funny, my court appointed lawyer was named
Charles A. Doherty. My buddy asked which lawyer I got and I told him. He said "o shit, not twent to forty Doherty". He was
right. I was the only guilty plea from 48 arrests.

Thanks for letting me ramble. BigSteve.

You should be a narrator in a story about your life, or maybe a movie. Cold, raw life. It's a beautiful thing.

Hi Mae and others..:leaf: Wish we were all in one spot..It would be a hell of a BBQ.
Keep in mind that we're not old till we,re dead!

I was a kid of about 12 when i was given some seeds. I planted them and put them in the window to grow. My mother was watering them thinking that i was growing flowers. I didn't exactly look like a flower growing guy but in the late 60,s early seventies we pretty much all had long hair and were called hippies. Well anyway somehow my mother figured out what kind of "flowers " i was growing and tossed them on me! That was the end of my growing experience ----until now!

Thats the world your in now. Go into a department store now. In the old days, they made sure you could find what you wanted and they sold it to ya, found you the right size and everything.
Now, they could give 2 shits and actually hope you dont buy nuthin so they dont have to ring it up. Some may think thats small and nit-picky but it isn't, it reflects a change in our culture for the worse.

Great story. The only thing missing from it is that you married the girl. Raised a family. And are still living happily ever after...got the makings for a screen play............

Poppies are easy to grow, but harvesting them isn't so easy, takes practice and a light touch... and you need a whole lot to get anything worth having.

I'm 74, retired, and having a ball with my second grow. Did my first in the 70s when almost NO info was available. Can't believe how much information is available to the novice grower now. Had to give up weed in the 80s (job related) but after retirement no more problems with job requirements SO here we go again. I have NO intention of ever giving it up again. The only thing negative about it is the stupid law that makes it illegal in my state. I can buy all the alcohol I want legally but not weed. The problems associated with alcohol consumption are HUGE compared with weed use but the laws stand. Hopefully we'll have an enlightened Govt. some day, if we survive the corruption in our present administration, that will decriminalize weed and we'll all dump the guilt.

55 and retired. I also got my first 4 finger "lid" in 69. All my friends older brothers were coming home from Nam and teaching us how to get high. I've talked my wife into letting me farm my own smoke after she went along for the ride to the dealer the last time I purchased. My grow is 3 X 4 LED grow. 1-Sour Jack Fem 1-White Widow Fem and Blueberry Gum Fem. I'm a Florida Spacecoast resident. Good thread .

Im 56 and been smoking for over 35 years on and off. At one time or another I have been involved in many aspects of selling growing and smoking . Have to keep it hidden now been in to much trouble in the past just because I love my smoke.
Was in the army in the early 70s when lots of soldiers were coming back from Nam . Tai stick was so abundant and hash ,weed an a few other things. Bought a kilo of smoke once with a seal in the middle made of pure opium that said Providence Of Mesh Mi Cann on it. Could go on and on but seems we all had a pretty dam good time. I did hit some bumps in the road but life goes on.

Guess I'll share my first time! Went to see Van Halen in 76 with 4 good buddies. Picked up a hitchhiker going to the concert too. The first thing my craziest buddie ask was if he had any weed! Now understand, we drank a lot but until that point, the other 4 of us had made a pack to never "Smoke dope", because, well why do you think they call it dope:) so the hitchhiker says hell yeah, pulls out a Crown Royal bag, and out of it he pulls a pipe and a bag of weed! Loads the pipe, lights it, and passes it on. Nobody says a word, and everybody hits it. This continues for three bowls. Oh yeah, I'm driving! So still, nobody has said a word until maybe 15 minutes later, everybody except me starts laughing uncontrolably! I ask what the fuck is so funny? They tell me to look behind us and then at the speedometer. There was a line of 20 or so cars behind us and I was driving 15 mph in a 55mph zone:) I know a lot of people say they don't get stoned the first time, but I got ripped, spent the whole concert walking up to people smoking a joint hoping they would pass it to me, and there has seriously been 12 days since then that I have not gotten high, I have been counting;)

Passing joints at concerts and the one you got handed back was twice as large. Remember the "power hitter"? The plastic bottle with the " tin man hat" shaped top that you put the joint inside and squeezed the bottle for the shotgun effect. The good ole days for sure

Ok so here is the scoop on my first time. I was a complete motor head, drag racing specifically. It was the summer of 1969 and at night you would take your street car out and drag the strip. To funny, I was such a red neck. My buddy and I had the two fastest street cars in Wichita Kansas and he walks up to me one night with a plastic baggie and says "lets get high" wtf I thought only beatniks in coffee shops smoked mary jane!! Anyway long story short we had the whole strip smoking dope with in a week.
