My first grow :D

So my plant (Fast Bud Automatic) has sprouted for a week, but it's better late than never to start a journal. It was planted after a successful germination last weekend on Saturday June 23. Then it sprouted Monday and has been flying since. My goal is to post a new picture every day since this little guy is growing almost too fast. I have had 2 issues, one with underwatering and one with chlorine, but they both were taken care of instantly so there should be much of a problem anymore.

Lighting is 20/4

2x26 watt CFL's 6500k
4x23 watt CFL's 2700k

Soil is Vigoro's Organic Potting Mix

Nutes will be Miracle Gro All Purpose 24-8-16

Any other questions, feel free to ask :bigjoint:

This is a current picture, she is growing BEYOND fast.... The new leaves are also looking very healthy :bigjoint: No more chlorine burns..................

How old is she?

Make sure you tell us some specifics such as age (and maybe even PPM/PH, when watered, etc) so we can keep up to date :)

Very well. Funnily enough the water where I live is a little acidic so when I water her, the pH drops to 6.5 and when she needs to be watered again, the pH rises to 6.9. She was watered 2 days ago and today still she doesn't need it. There really isn't much going on today... I will post pictures tonight and she is 11 days old.

Great.

She looks good for 11 days old. Can't wait for more updates :)

I've been pretty busy but she has still been growing very well and she was just watered yesterday. I notice the water drying up a little faster now so maybe I have to water every 2 days now. Anyways here are some pictures and this is day 13. Also with her size, she might need a bigger pot soon. Although this pot seems big enough, just the soil level is a little low... Any ideas for maybe raising that a bit?

I would just wait until transplanting to add any soil, but so far it looks well.

How big is the pot you're currently using? Got a pic of that as well?

So I made a big decision to move my little girl outside. The CFLs would only produce a few grams at a slower pace which isn't what I was trying to do. She is a little shocked but is wilting during night and standing during the day like she is supposed to. The big shock comes from the light cycle which was 20/4 now reduced to around 16/8. But it's still worth it for me.

sorry to say so .. but that pot is all wrong .. is ther even a lot of good drain holes in the bottom ? or just one tiny one ?

I would for sure repot it in to a bigger nice 3 gallon pot with some good soil mix (peetmoss/wormcastin/perlit/coco/sand/aso) and filld up .. the soil will shrink as I guess you notice ..

some lega nuts or sumthing similar in to bottom to secure good drain and keep the roots from staying wet all the time is also a good idea ..

or if possible get it out side in the ground .. it will love it ..

No there are a few good drain holes that I made because there used to be just one. I want to put her straight into the ground but the issue is in the fact that the soil that gets good light is very packed, and the soil that's loose enough doesn't get much light at all. Also I don't know the pH. It needs to stay in a fairly inconspicuous location for obvious reasons. But as for another update, she is VERY happy outside and I see new growth already which is fantastic news for me (not too much stress). So as of right now, there is no issue with the pot, but there will be and I have known that for a while... I have a pretty nice pot but it's big and easy to see so I have to figure it all out. But nonetheless, she is very happy and growing still.

I would much rather have a plant in the ground who get maybe 5-8 hrs direct sun light then a plant in a pot who resive 14+

in the ground its mouch more easy aswell .. and you grow trees insted of small house plants .. realy .. even autos can grow fairly big in the ground ..

to do good ... a out door plant need atlest +5 hrs ... +8 is better of direct sun .. try to find a corner wher the sun hits most of the day ..

if you have high temps choose a place wher morning or evening sun hits and if that is`t a problem (less then 85F mid day) find the spot wher it get the most ..

if soil is bad .. hard and packed (even if it is´t) you would like to clear the ground for other grow .. dig a hole a foot deep and same in diremeter and fill it with some good soil .. then plant it ..

if you plant it in the ground you realy dont need to worry about PH .. in a pot you need to water with 6,5

if your concernd about the soils PH you can add lime and water before planting .. it will buffer the soil .. you can also make a test

DSC00405.jpg

cheap soil test kit .. like 5$ or so .. will not tell you what it is on the dot .. but it will tell you if it is with in ranges of what your looking for 6-7

also .. in the ground it wont be spottet so easily .. specialy if you keep it low .. close to other plant ..

I even seen Ppl. top em .. then LST em with green strings and then hang pingpong balls on them .. paintet red .. they had em along side the tomatos plants ;)

Yep I am putting her in the ground tomorrow as I just bought a whole bunch of good soil. May I ask why fewer hours in ground is better than more hours in a pot? Because I want the one with best results.

No, its not good to receive those light hours!

Jesus, it'll stretch and start flowering before long. Let it veg out. If it gets dark too soon then throw some artificial lights around it outside.

Yea I put her in a pot which is a whole other thing I have to talk about... The transplant was messy. Roots were broken, she wilted at first, but I think she is recovering now. When i dug her up, i felt some snap which really sucks, but KNOWING I could very possibly cause damage, I looked up what to do before I transplanted her. So as soon as I knew I broke some roots, I flushed her, trimmed a dying leaf, and put her in a area where it's cool and shady. She has picked back up and I will probably keep her in a spot that gets a few hours of direct sunlight per day rather than a whole bunch. Lesson with pots learned, put it in it's final pot right away. Will upload pictures soon
