I just don't get texting. Wouldn't it be sexier to actually TALK to someone on the phone? Hear their breathing get louder,etc? Much more intimate and sexy

Texting is like passing notes in school...lame. IMO its more of a pain in the ass to keep typing back and forth than it is to speak to someone.

People's interpersonal skills are going right down the crapper. Folks are getting uncomfortable talking to each other

I assume some people are too shy to voice these things out loud. Also they probably save the texts to read another time or read them under the table like passing notes in class. I'm a writer, so I am biased towards well-written erotica rather than porn or sex lines.

I don't think it's to do with technology dehumanizing people in this case unlike in a few other topics where people asked 'why does no one just call?' Oh, the Facebook thread I think.

EDIT: You posted at the same time as me ^^ Yes, that's the point I guess. It's more like a continuing story. It is precisely the same format as online roleplay boards, only you don't have to be approved by the resident council of grammar-nazis before being allowed to post.

i just think your mad no one wanted to pass notes with you when you were in school. :p

its like this i can talk to someone all day through texting even while im working or cooking food, what ever. i cant talk on the phone all day with someone and in many activities in life i would have to put the phone down to do things. with texting i can reply now, in a few mins, a hour from now, when ever.

Texting is so goddamn boring and pointless, and every chick I know abuses the fuck out of it trying to carry conversations n shit. That's not what texting is supposed to be for, that's just retarded, and pointless, as you pointed out, I agree!

"meet me at 9pm"..."it was good seeing you"..."your sister came by to say hi"... shit like that is fine. I've had gf's get mad at me for telling them that's not what I'm for, if you wanna text small talk bullshit pointless nonsense that I don't care about, don't be surprised if I don't respond... is all.

Sexting on the other hand has a purpose, a point, a reason for me to keep interested.

Naw, did plenty of note passing with girls in class. I guess I just don't get why people have to constantly be texting someone all throughout the day, while they ignore real people around them and everything else. Even talking on the phone (sex talk aside), it's like tell me what you want so I can get on with my day.

i guess some of us have boring enough lifes where we can use texting to pass the day by. probably the best answer you'll get lol.
