Overdrive is the only bud potentiator and bud builder designed to give your plants the extra energy and nutrition they need so they increase yield size and bud potency even during the last weeks of bloom phase when most plants have quit producing. Overdrive contains vitamins, crop boosters and nutrients that give you:

  • Increased nutrient uptake
  • Increased photosynthesis and energy
  • Increased cell expansion and replication for larger flowers
  • Increased creation of internal floral structures and compounds for increased aroma, taste, potency and market value
  • Increased resistance to drought, heat, stress, diseases, pests and end stage exhaustion due to folic acid and other ingredients
  • Potential 9-23% gains in harvest weight and size during last trimester of growth

AN's overdrive is a PK booster.
Its derived primarily from the same ingredient as any other PK booster: monopotassium phosphate.
Overdrive is a fine product. It works. But AN is all marketing. The bottle states that "Overdrive is an ultra premium flower booster with an extremely extensive and very complex array of phosphorus and potassium sources..." There are literally three sources on the bottle.. I guess three counts as an extremely extensive and very complex mix of potassium and and phosphorus...

If you want to pay extra for Overdrive, more power to you. It will work. But like I said, that company is mostly marketing. There are many comparable products that will do the same job at half the cost.

I love overdrive and have done side by side grows and got almost a qp extra from the dosed clone.

I also love and use other AN products, and have proven the results are well worth the investment for me; or maybe it's the kool-aid talking. :eyesmoke:

botanicare hydroplex 0-10-6
GH kool bloom (they sell both powdered and liquid form) 2-45-28 and 0-10-10 respectively
Dutch master potash+ 0-4-9
BC technaflora awesome blossom 2-11-11
Foxfarm has 3 PK powders: open sesame, cha ching, and one other.
etc etc.
The point I'm trying to make is that every company sells at least one of these PK boosters, and they're all made up of pretty much the same stuff. I can't justify paying top dollar for AN products when the only difference between their bottle and the competitors is marketing. You'll get roughly the same result with all of these products, the only difference will be how much you decide to pay.

AN claims that they add a lot of extras in their juice. Amino acids, fulvic acids, etc. Want to see what happened when those claims were put to the test?

If you want a lot of those extra hormones and vitamins, consider adding a seaweed/kelp extract to your fertilizer regiment. It's all naturally occurring in seaweed and it only costs $20/gallon retail.

I was looking at all the labels and damned if I only saw one company with a big fat guarantee sticker on every single product. Is that BS? I know botanicare says satisfaction guaranteed but you have to look for it. It's just interesting how AN goes out of their way to let you know it's guaranteed. I have used overdrive and GH 0-10-10 and the plant reaction to overdrive was much more noticeable. I grew short ryders with both and AN seemed more potent of a smoke. That's IMO for sure.

Unless of course it's like Tommy Boy: " you can stick a guarantee sticker on a piece of shit, that only makes it a guaranteed piece of shit" ?? or is it "you can stick your hand up a Butchers ass... " I forget

That 'guarantee' is also a bit of a marketing gimmick. AN is not the one refunding your money, it's the hydro store and it's up to their discretion as to whether they're going to refund your money. Additionally, the hydro store eats some of the cost of that return so it's not like AN is putting their neck out on the line with every product they produce.

When I called about returning the Connoisseur bottles I bought, not only was I going to have to fill out paperwork that included personal information, but I was going to have to tell them how I used it, why I didn't like it, then go through some approval process which apparently involved the local AN rep. Now this return process was store-specific and while the return process of other local stores isn't quite as rigorous, it's a good example of how AN is not offering a 'no questions asked' money back guarantee.

mon3ymak3n: the best 'booster' depends on your medium and the mineral composition of your base nutrients. You're in dirt so just worry about keeping your plants green and healthy and the yields will come. IME, PK boosters work against you in the dirt.

I didn't know that. If that's the case, I will raise all kinds of hell. Including to the local hydro shop. Do you know others who went through that much shit getting a refund?
On another note, how is your H&G grow coming along. I'm really curious how it's doing.

I don't know anyone else who has gone through the refund process, I just called around to other local stores (and even a few bigger stores out of my time zone) and asked them what their AN return policy is like. The refund process varied but AN has definitely not 'rubber stamped' any return that walks through the door.

Now it's one thing to have a bad product straight from the manufacturer, I'd imagine any store would take back any product that was faulty out of the factory. But to return something simply because the customer didn't like it or because it didn't perform as advertised, I think that's where some of these stores are trying to cover their own @ss and avoid unwanted costs.

I was very impressed with AquaFlakes actually. Very economical to use, very consistent, no surprises. I'm still waiting on final yield numbers but I can tell you that AquaFlakes is definitely a high quality product and worth looking into. In hydro, I'd recommend a bloom booster ( I used magpro 2-15-4) because the AquaFlakes base supplies a little too much N for my tastes.
