Help! whats this slime in my res ?

So far im using Jungle Juice m/b, bud candy and powder ph. At first i thought it was the powder ph because i didnt mix it in well but i did this time and it keeps happening. I think what ever this is killed one of my previous plants anyone know what this is ? is it harmful ? and how do u get rid of it.. my plants are a couple of days into flowering i dont want anything messing em up

I blame the Bud Candy. It's really not appropriate for hydro regardless of labeling. You're feeding bacteria and yeast, and they're partying and sliming.

My recommendations:
1) Wash your roots with water to dislodge the goo, then soak them for a spell in dilute peroxide at the correct strength.
2) Wash your bucket(s) with bleach, then water. Kill everything.
3) Remix your hydro nute but minus sugars. Add some peroxide to inhibit recolonization by scum.

I thought I read soemthing about bleach leaving behind a 'film' of sorts if you don't REALLY wash things and rinse, rinse, rinse.... and that film might be harmful?

I think there's other alternatives to clean/disinfect with... Like high % alcohol, perhaps peroxide itself (they have the real high % stuff but it needs handled carefully &/or diluted)...

And I believe Ona makes a "Ona Bleach" which isn't supposed to leave that film??

I was getting this film too, I started using hygrozyme and it made a world of difference. I also clean my stuff with bleach after I notice the film. I put everything in my Bath tub, put about 10% unscented bleach, scrub everything then rinse like 6 times with hot water. Also make sure when you mix your nutes always mix the micro first for about 5 minutes then add the other stuff 1 at a time with a good 5 minute mix in between. Your nutes can bind and cause a red/brown slime...good luck. Look into hygrozyme, its the best thing i've ever used in my hydro system.

Bleach will leave a residue, but only if you don't rinse. A simple water rinse will remove all bleach and its decomposition product, table salt. cn

Also instead of bud candy..look into powder koolbloom by gh or the liquid kool bloom if your early into flower. The powder is for late flower.

My bad...I was thinking it was a flower enhancer. Either way, the hygozyme will help. I only use GH products plus pro tek silica and hygrozyme.

It is ... it's basically monopotassium phosphate with cheaper salts blended in to make it proprietary. ~pffff~ cn

You most probably have light getting into the rez somewhere...I have had that issue myself... Usually rez slime alone won't kill a plant...so I am going ot go out on a limb and say that your nute strength is very probably too high, thusly causing the algae fed by the light leak to thrive, while also killing your plants...I have messed up DWC in everyway you can...so for real...clean the buckets, fix the light leaks, and feed them less...You will get better results with straight tap and no food, than you will with too much food for real!
