So believe it or not i am a mod at a MMJ site in my local state about 12k members, and we have this group of people who are just plain bigots.

and of course it is over some Jewish stuff, and its basically a group vs one member who is Jewish who defends himself. its a strange situation . . i know it should be cut and dry to get rid of any malicious members but they, we, are a community and you dont cast someone aside because you dont like them or their views . . .you lead by example

ok on to the point of the question

this current person i am speaking about, claims a 141 IQ, hates internet abbr. like LOL and lmfao, has dirty hippy persona and dress begs for help from the community(aided by other bigots lol), cant grow at all and has recently decided to take is ideology to PM with said Jewish member. ok question time

how is it someone who claims to be intelligent, e.i quoting 141 IQ, can be so obtuse as to hold the precieved transgressions all members of said religion or nationality against one person. this person admittedly stirs the pot, but not in an im a Jew and your not, way. just a BS filter way it just happens that he is Jewish so he can be and is judged by stereotypes and assumed agendas that his nationality/ancestry must imply

why is it wrong to demean women or hate black people or Mexicans or Greeks or Germans or Americans for what they possibly might represent, but its ok to hate Muslims, Jews, Israelis, and a number of other nationalities and or creeds including gay people , lesbians and non socially accepted religions . . .. .

how is it someone can claim to be intelligent but still find ways to de-value some one else for what ever excuse

and ya obvious answer is they are not as well balanced as they claim to be , whether or not they have a high IQ or not, please provide input to this as i can not find any logic in hating someone for any reason

we are all made up of the same elements and have a shared ancestry . . . i am agnostic if you wonder, science is the key to understanding the magic of this existence imho

i would love to hear from any self proclaimed bigots who have actually excepted themselves for who they are and have looked and accepted reason why they are prejudiced, please refrain from personal attacks as this is a emotional topic for many

i may not be ready to accept that people are hateful for no other reason other than ignorance or preference but its one or the other to me, you either blindly believe in something that de-values another or you except that this is how i feel even though it makes little sense to hate another human as we are all equally important within our own personal and social universe

for example. . . i dis like fin shaggy , he preaches without knowledge or wisdom very scary jones town shit, but i would never for a second make a choice that i am better then him or the space that i take up in this world is more deserved then his . . . .we are disagreeable equals so rant ramble over . .. does any of this make sense, or am i just another pretentious American

"Not that it matters, but my IQ is 141. Just 4 points shy of genius level. I could probably fart in your vicinity and double your IQ."

here is a quote from said "just shy of genius" guy

and this same person referd to me being the equivalent to his 13yr old niece because i sent him a pm titled lmfao, and in response i admit abbrev. internet jargon is a cancer on the English language, but with that kind of thought process we would not have a lot of cool words, like gorgeous!

and to put this into context this message was not a response it was a personal attack to siad member and titled "dear parasite of (insert website name)"

As a bigot of sorts I can not say that ignorance is always a defense as there may be many deep rooted issues which you are aware of as a bigot and you know for a fact that your reactions or actions are wrong, but something deep inside of you keeps pushing it out regardless of what you know to be the truth...

One thing that i would like to point out is that for 6000 years we have been qualifying and ranking humans biased on performance. The idea of equality and such is a rather new idea on the large scale and humans are having a, not surprisingly, hard time adapting to our new way of thinking.

It is hard to accept everyone as equals when performance, in any number of categories, ranges such a broad spectrum. It seems almost built into us to envy, follow, and respect better preforming people and qualify them higher in social status. The idea of speaking to someone like Einstein the way you would a craked out homeless man is almost laughable but it is the idea of equality we are attempting to accept so strongly in the last 40 - 200 years, depending on how you look at it.

I don't find such conflicts surprising at all especially considering the diverse prospective of people today.

it is likely that a person who preforms well at a given task will put more stock on that specific skill as a ranking system for how they judge people around them. It is only natural to take pride in the things you excel at.

It's hard to really type what i'm trying to say but i hope you overcome my lingual inadequacies, as i am a mechanical engineer and have only recently began to understand the importance and beauty of language, and how it can be used in so many ways to influence those around you and better express your feelings and opinions. Much of what makes the human mind so amazing is its ability to rank and qualify such a large amount of things so complexly and then to make decisions biased on an understanding of the data, and the notion of fundamental equality tells us not to do that, to accept everyone as equal regardless of there performance. Obviously, in most places we have adapted the idea of equality to fit a system we like and basically have made a list of thing we accept as qualifying characteristics to judge people by, and a list of thing we wish people wouldn't judge people by. The problem is our government/society doesn't always choose the same qualities we find appealing..... so what happens? you get labeled a bigot.

how could someone claim to be intelligent and not, would be a question i would be more interested in. Some would argue the higher your intelligence the easier it is to find both reasons and ways to devalue less proficient people around you. I'm not sure, but cognitive thinking is something most humans take pride in as it is one major thing that separates us from the rest of animals. And blindly accepting someone as an equal, when we have put so much effort into bettering ourselves, is inherently conflicting with intelligence, wisdom, and nature.

and i don't mean to "devalue" you but i think you have misunderstood the significance of an IQ score. Also the term intelligence has taken on a very broad meaning in American English. 3 qualities that are often used nearly interchangeably despite the distinctly different nature of there meanings are intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge. You can know almost nothing and still be very intelligent, the quality refers to ones ability to take information process it and use it to interrupt and solve a problem.

and your telling me that using intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge to qualify the people around you is actually not intelligent and makes you a bigot? You may be right, but i hope you can see the other side also, and the reasoning behind the actions you so despise.

(intelligence/arrogance) * (knowledge + experience) = wisdom

and a pretty good rule of thumb for anyone bragging about an IQ score, is that if they are proud of something as simple and non indicative as an IQ score then they are most likely lacking any other significant achievements or accomplishments in which they can take pride.

would you be so kind as to share any qualities you feel are acceptable to use to asses the quality of an individual in given situations? Or are there none for one who accepts the fundamental equality of man? This seems quiet impossible given the need for a judicial system and the presence of a capitalistic social hierarchy but i am interested in hearing your opinion none the less, as i fully accept the possibility that i am woefully wrong in my logic.

"why is it wrong to demean women or hate black people or Mexicans or Greeks or Germans or Americans for what they possibly might represent, but its ok to hate Muslims, Jews, Israelis, and a number of other nationalities and or creeds including gay people , lesbians and non socially accepted religions . . .. . "

Is it wrong? how are you deciding what is right and wrong? is this simply what you have been taught is wrong or can you provide evidence and reasoning for why you feel it is wrong? and how do you personally define something as wrong. The are all great questions to ponder if you have time.

I agree that it is wrong, but it also feels somewhat foolish to not apply experience and knowledge to identify characteristics of particular groups of people and attempt to intelligently use this knowledge to make a wise decision about how to interact with them. Thus we must choose between making wise, intelligent decisions or foolishly accepting what we are told is right. Do you see the delima?

if 90% of the white people you encounter dislike you for being black how long will it take before you begin to make the assumption that dealing with a white person is going to go badly for you. So would you be considered intelligent to come to that conclusion quickly and foolish if it takes you years? Or are you a bigot for ever realizing it? who can say for sure?

Two observations.

1) An IQ of 141 is not 4 points below genius level! This poor sod obviously has an inferiority complex the size of a small city, and clings to the notion of superior intelligence like a drowning man to a splintered board. But he also seems to have very poor emotional intelligence. i suspect he's mildly autistic, which would also help provide context for the strong aversion to sloppy language. ~blush~

2) The impulse to bigotry and distrust of the Other is a deep visceral thing. The adults among us use reason to control it, but the seed is there even in the saints among us. The wise know it is there, don't deny it but tell it No.

When I was young, my circumstances were such that I almost never met black people. So in college I finally got to meet and interact with a number of them. i remember having this intense awareness of difference (fueled by the abstract knowledge that race relations were a lively problem in America) ... which slowly dissolved with simple exposure, as I got to see the full range of human response from each of them. Allowing experience while holding prejudice (or its wellspring, sense of otherness) under control is an adult's duty imo.

Anyone who spouts off their IQ publicly isn't a genius.

Just like the little guy who always has something to prove.

He's self conscious about aspects of his life and uses perceived intelligence as an outlet to express it.

Fuck that guy.

Fear is fuel for most of the actions considered to be anti-social.

Fear of people who think differently, eat differently, speak differently....etc.

Fear of something new, fear that what used to be won't be anymore, fear of change...etc.

Fear of their own feelings and emotions.

Fear that other people won't like them if they behave wrongly.

Too often these fears are imprinted very early in life and fearful people will carry this unwelcome burden around with them everywhere. When confronted by a fearful situation they will reach into their quiver and pull out the only responses they have ever had and that is to lash out in anger. Anger is just a social mask intended to hide their fear.

I have never known personally known anyone that was adverse to Jewish people I guess...

I got my nose pierced and my husband was with me... When we were picking out which piece to put in my new piercing I said I wanted one with a little flair, to which my husband answers, " The Nazis had pieces of flair, that they made the Jews wear." ---(From the movie Officespace)---but our piercing guy stops and says, " just so you know, I'm Jewish...It doesn't bother me, but just thought I would let you know..." We were like, oops, we have an issue with chronically quoting movies...I just like to fit in quotes whenever possible, and it rubs off on people, but it embarrassed my husband and I think the guy was just messing with him..I mean I didn't want to upset the guy, we meant no offense...neither me or my husband could tell if he was like offended or not, but I like to think he wasn't... Went back to make sure we didn't offend him and to get my eyebrow pierced, but he wasn't there and some chick did it...

I have never felt biased against Jewish people. Although, I do find myself somewhat biased against some groups of people as a whole, Jewish people aren't one of them.

Can't trust fatties either.
I wouldn't say you can't trust them, just that they should get more exercise...If I feel fat I take a walk... so I stay at a reasonable level of average-ness, but I find myself making faces at jiggly fat fats at walmart...and the worst thing...the worst thing are the people that are so fat they use the little power scooters, when you know, if they got off the scooter and walked around the store 2 or 3 times a day they would no longer need the damn scooter... I don't get it... Then again I can't stop eating candy, so I just know that one day I will be diagnosed diabetic and will kill myself because I can't survive life without sugar, or without legs... Nahhh...I'll just stop eating so much Fucking sugar!

They stick to themselves mostly.. and they collect enough money that they dont have any problems to be in the public eye.

so, genius math is as follows: 141 + 4 = 150 IQ points. seems legit.

really it sounds like someone who has a false sense of their own intelligence because they are surrounded by a certain type of people, and assigning a random number to it is supposed to give it some credibility. i know a girl who thinks i'm a genius because i knew that india was in asia. if i was surrounded by people like her i might also assume i'm to the right of the bell curve. if i assumed i was a genius, it would be easy to assume that my perceptions of people were spot on.

i remember in grammar school i thought i was soooo much smarter than the other students because i finished my work early and got straight As and whatnot, and literally no one else did (poor neighborhood). i remember being 8 or so and actually equating being puerto rican with being "not smart" because my classes were about half hispanic and my grades were so much higher. it wasn't until i got to junior high and went into honors classes with kids (of all ethnicities) bussed in from other schools that i realized that i was actually quite average among my honors peers and race had absolutely nothing to do with it. there were kids of every color and economic background that were better than me at SOMETHING, and it was my first real shock of perspective. i was way less special than i thought. i needed that.

i wonder how many bigots go through life as a big fish in a small pond and never realize that they are in fact just like everybody else.

I was always the smartest in my class but got the worst grades. I realized the system was flawed when dumbass white girls got A's on everything but didnt know the difference between George Washington and Bill Clinton.
