Hi PSUAGRO

On some of the pictures of your light you are using a white paper? hanging down to reflect the light,
I don't know if you got it on all sides, but anyway I grabbed some pictures of the PAR meter placed
on the floor when reading the difference when using no reflection or when using a aluminum tray to reflect the light.

About your CO2 meter's bad looking smiley I wonder how this fellow would look in a room with 10.000ppm
(I was just reading up on whats a safe levels with CO2 5 minutes ago)

What levels of CO2 are considered safe?

@ Rasser...........yes it's construction paper with aluminium foil glued on the other side( no noise!ha)/ yes quite a increase i figured 15%, impressive.......

DAY 22 ................................#1002.jpg003.jpg..........................#2004.jpg005.jpg..........everything the same blah..............#2 was watered/ very low dose of Fish Emulsion(5-1-1), aerated tap (6.8ph)......... also both misted with a low FE foliar feeding.............

You guyz are gonna be the death of my Friday nights. Thanks for the inspiration Rass.

It looks ghetto but after turning it on, it seems like it will work great. I'll find out if the plants like it in the morning. Don't know if it will increase my output by 20%, but if it does 5% it was worth the $2 dollars and 20 minutes to attach. I've always thought panels waste light and wanted to do something like this to get some of that light back. Probably do my BS's this week. More pics in my journal Sunday.

I was playing with your image in paint shop 7's illumination effect to illustrate the most energy efficient way to grow seedling,
of witch I think this would be, if you could focus and dim the lights.


But then I noted this screen:


3 things that would be nice to control in a grow light.

Look out a 200$ USB2DMX Controller with software is heading for the grow rooms.
I see Welleman also got one for diy like my K8055 interface with a dll for user programming. Nice.

DMX512 can control 512 channels, either used as 512 units using 1 channel each or 10 units using 51 channels each
- intensity is one channel, color is another, pan,tilt, gobo fixture, you name it all take up 1 channel in moving heads stage lighting btw.

Nice way to use the tray, looks a bit like a not so incredible high budget, street light.;-)

I thought about making them like this, so they are adjustable.


My closet grow and the 120W LED light fits well, with reflection on all four sides, so it's doubtful how much I would gain,
I properly would shift the light from lighting the lower parts from the reflection to increasing the intensity at the top.

^^^ That's what I was thinking about, like what they use for theatrical lighting, but those solutions seem to cost as much as my panel so I've been trying to figure out how to attach flanges to the panels on the cheap. When I saw your picture, the potential just hit me. My ghetto solution is working great so far. I may mod it later to see if I can get a little more out of it. No heat issues whatsoever and the area above the panels is obviously darker, which I like. Does make my footprint a bit smaller, but in a good way I reckon :).

Yes it's the flexibility it gives.

Just the other day I was using my 120W as a side panel up close to a blooming bud who still needed another week or two,
in these cases it would be nice to be able to focus the light at full power.

But when vegging a few seedlings that are much smaller than the food print of the lamp,
it would be nice if you could dim the light to be energy efficient and by focusing the light
the plant could receive sunshine levels of light all the time, but only the plants and when it
got to high to only receive 12:00 sunshine, you open the flaps to enable the reflection to
bounce back into the lower parts of the plant.

Lovely seedling man, very nice lust green growth.

I've had clones in coco seedling tray pots been vegging for 30 days and the pot dries out (not bone dry) before watering, and they love it, as long as you dont have a HIGH EC content in the coco, leaving the coco to dry is beneficial for the roots when growing under LED. Under HID its a different story. Let her dry out, she'll love it.

I hear ya. I was just curious because I keep reading "no water yet" and wasn't sure when you last did. heh. The girls are looking good though, so you know what your doing.
