WOW. This has been really helpful. Thank you so much original poster! Not sure why, but it seems like reliable info. I'm usually very skeptical about everything I read until it's confirmed, but the way your post was worded sure seems like you've had a fair amount of experience with autos. I'm on my first auto grow - and have been looking for some answers about when to switch to flowering nutrients.
I woke up today to see that one of my Nirvana Short Riders is starting to show pistils. I was excited and thinking maybe it's time to start giving her flowering nutrients, but according to your advice, I want to wait a couple more weeks to let her keep growing vertically. Then, I'll switch to flowering nutes, right? I have a link to my journal in my signature - it's not large scale grow - just a few plants for my own personal enjoyment. They're under a 250 Watt HPS air cooled hood in a small closet. IF you have time to swing by and check it out - some input would be nice. I know going start to finish under HPS isn't the best way to go, but they seem healthy enough. When I bought the ballast and hood - that's the only bulb my local shop had in stock. I went ahead and started them under the HPS, and by the time I bought a MH bulb, it seemed wrong to switch their light. Anyways - REP GIVEN for such an informative thread! THANK YOU>
