EDIT: Quick note. My other girl is still growing very strange. The leaves seem to grow outwards as far as possible with real thick stems, large, but not bushy nor lanky leaves, spread out quite a bit. Lots of space between nodes, constantly having to bend her over. No crystals on it yet, but plenty of budding sites that are only just starting to swell a bit.

Sativa hybrid, anyone? Here's the top view of the plant if anyone can tell by that.

Day 47/24 update

!!CRYSTALS!!
!!VEGETABLES!!
!!RAINBOWS!!

Not much to mention today. Mostly just some nice pics to share

In other news, my vegetable garden is in business. I have almost everything planted, just a matter of picking up some more seeds. Currently I have cucumber, zucchini, eggplant, tomato, jalapeno and green beans planted with corn (this way the beans vine up the corn stalk and becomes much easier to pick). The heat wave and lack of rain coming through here has been posing some problems, but I try my best to keep everything cooled off with the sprinkler.

Anyways, that's that. Be sure to check the full size of the crystal pic.
Peace out.

Nice pics. as always man. Looks like you are going to have a nice sized garden of veggies too! I'm battling the heat out here where I live as well, and on top of that it's a bit hotter than the thermometer reading when you factor in the humidity level. My garden needs lots of extra watering and there are times when I barely wanna go turn the sprinklers on because it's so darned hot outside. What are we gonna do when summer really hits us??!!!! Anyways, your girls are lovely and coming along really nice. I look forward to seeing how much you are going to yield.

Happy growing!

Day 54/31 update

Again, not much to say. Mostly just marking the date and posting some pics.

Bud growth has seemed to taken off suddenly. Fattening up and getting crystaly.
Anyway, I'm too medicated at the moment to go much further. PICS.

Day 63/40 update

THE END IS NIGH

My first girl seems to be only about a week or so from harvest and she's been filling out nicely, exceeding my expectations. Nothing impressive, but I will be satisfied. Pistils are starting to turn in color and the smell and stickiness is a delight. The smell still isn't too awfully potent, but every now and then I get a wiff of it from across my room. The small box and ventilation keeps the odor under control.

The sativa hybrid still has a couple weeks to go, if not another month. She's just started forming crystals and the buds are continuing to swell. I'm curious which I'll get the biggest yield from. Hoping once I harvest the other girl, the sativa will be able to take all the light and plump right up.

Current pictures will be coming soon, for now all I have is a pic from this past week, but still worth a looksie.

looking excellent man! Girl one might plump up more in the next week for sure, but consider giving her 2 weeks to see if she will put on a little more weight for ya. The health and color of your girls is great. What are you feeding them and how often?

peace and grow love

Thanks a lot. I plan to just feel it out on harvesting, if I feel like she's getting a bit too old I'll cut her.
Both my girls are quite healthy, and I've been using MG soil, so I haven't been feeding them. I do have some MG that I've given small shots of before with good results, but I figure it's probably best to let them just get whatever is leftover in the original soil mix. Is it too late to give them another shot?

Hell, if it ain't broke don't fix it. They look just fine with what you're doing so ... let 'em do what they do naturally!

Having some trouble. Been noticing leaves becoming more and more rusted/burnt looking starting in the fan leaf veins and working outwards. At first I didn't think much of it but it's continued to get worse. The indica isn't affected by it too awfully much, a few bad leaves but it's so late in it's life I'm not that concerned. However the sativa has been getting bad leaves left and right, even in the sugar leaves out of the buds. Nute burn? Rust? Too much heat? Ventilation issue? Help :(

You can see the leaf in the foreground of this pic, this is how all the leaves look that have started to do this

First off, BREATHE!!! I've seen worse in my own garden in the past with even some burning on the buds two weeks from harvesting!! I was a wreck, but harvested early and the smoke was great. Yours don't look anything like the particular grow I'm describing. How often are you feeding during flowering? At this point, you can feed less than during veg. Many people suggest flushing your soil if you think you have over-fed, but that could cause problems and even more burn depending on the type of soil you are using. Miracle grow has plant food balls in it and when you flush, it seems to release too many nutes into the soil and screws the plants up more. Just water without any food, and check out this page here at RIU:

https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/488004-guide-nutrient-deficiency-toxicity.html

I had a small lightening of some leaves in my current grow and typically don't have problems during veg; all of my troubles typically occur during flowering when I am trying all kinds of stuff to get "bigger" buds, "faster"!! I've learned lots from those experiences. Nevertheless, check out that link as it helped me with my current grow and I rectified the little problem I was having really quickly.

Don't panic man, again ... I've seen MUCH worse!

Peace and much grow love

Well I'm not all that worried about it, however it's just been getting worse and worse. I went ahead and flushed the indica because it's so close to harvest and also the soil in it is recycled (I kept the MG balls in mind). The sativa however just continues to get worse and worse. I've looked through so many different forum topics and pics of people's troubles but nothing seems to match what's going on with mine :(

I've only fed my plants once or twice during veg, ever since I've just been using water. It'd be crazy to think that the MG soil just SUDDENLY decided to start releasing nutes all through it to burn it, but I don't know. As of today, the sativa has about 50% infected/affected browning leaves, most of which towards the top and near the buds. No idea whether it's going to be ruined or not seeing as how I can't seem the fix the problem.

In other news, I have unexpected company coming in again next weekend til the end of the month for a SUPER SURPRISE VISIT HOORAY..................... :finger: and my room has started to fill with the scent from my box during particular hours. Time to rig up that filtration system and hope for the best.

Don't cha just hate it when you are trying to grow and people decide they wanna come for a visit??? My visitor was supposed to come in about two weeks, now she is coming in 4 instead and I don't want to be flowering when she is here because my plants are already smelling during just 3/4 weeks of veg. so I know the smell will be overpowering during flowering. I am already using my inline fan/carbon filter setup; but it's loud and it's located in the room where my guest will be staying. I am going to have to put my babies out in the garage for a week I suppose until my guest is gone. But it leaves me vegging for 8-10 weeks instead of 6 because when I start flowering I want to try a SCROG and that will be too hard to move if I get it started before my guest comes. Arrrrgggghhh!!!Anyways, can you upload current pics of the girls? Also, how much longer were you going to flower the Sativa? You may have to chop her early if the buds start to become affected. Let's take a look bro!Much grow love ...

I know right? Let us grow in peace lol.

Anyways, I just got back from a much needed visit to the girly-friend, my OTHER girls were manned as best possible, got a little less light than normal last night but it'll do.

I happened to just take pics of the indica, which will follow this reply. I'll try to grab a pic of the sativa soon. It's starting to frustrate me as I have no clue what the problem is. One of those renegade plants that doesn't abide by any rules, yet the indica is lightly affected as well :?::?:

I totally feel your pain and frustration now bro. Don't know what the hell that is on your girl! Did you do ANYTHING differently right before the leaves started getting strange? Doesn't look like the bud itself is affected; however, I still would be a little concerned seeing as you have several more weeks to go. I'm sorta scared for you to flush her considering the soil contains time-released nutes, and don't have a clue what to tell you to give her that may straighten her out. Have you posted pics of her in the forum to see if anyone could offer some suggestions? Don't chop her down just yet ... there may still be hope as long as the buds don't start looking affected.

Holla back dude!

Much grow love ...

I didn't do a thing different with em, they both just started getting brown veins followed by brown/red/yellowing creating brittle leaves. The indica seems to have fought through it, not showing any signs of it progressing. The sativa is looking the same way a bit, seems like it's pushing through whatever it was, but I'm still keeping a close eye on it.

I don't plan to chop it down unless I feel it's fully necessary. If anything I might trim out any buds that get affected and hope the rest stay healthy.

Will keep you updated though on how they go

Quick update.

I'm somewhere around the beginning or end of week 8 of flowering, definitely going to need some advice on when to harvest.

I'd say somewhere around 70% of the pistils are orange and the buds have swollen drastically the past few days, so I know it's very close and have a general time frame. I can't afford a magnifier/microscope so I can't really check the crystals. Any tips on deciding without magnifying crystals or just by looking at my girl would be great.

That's the indica right? At any rate, it looks to me like she could go another week, but it really depends on the type of buzz you like. I'm more of a uplifting, mental high person as opposed to the couchlock buzz that leaves me feeling like I don't wanna do shit -- well -- unless it's time for me to go to bed or I just don't ... feel like doin' shit! LOL! Anyways, from the looks of the pistils she actually still has some swelling to do. You could always take a pinch of bud off of her, quick dry it and take a toke to see if you get the type of buzz you like.

Holla back!

Yes ma'am, that's the indica.

I like a good mix between the two, for back and knee pain/anxiety but I also like to smoke a bowl before I head out and do yard work and such. Maybe I should let her ripen a little bit longer and leave my sativa to take care of the head part lol. I actually did pull a piece off from near the bottom of the stalk the other day, however I failed to properly test it, as I was already medicated and just wanted to taste of it. SHAME ON ME, but I couldn't resist :(. My current plan is to just wait til all the pistils are orange and I'll probably give her another test. If it seems just right I'll chop her down and get to dryin.

Another quick question, how important is airflow when drying? I planned to just hang my buds from clothes hangers in my closet (I won't have to worry about smell when it comes that time) but unsure if the lack of any airflow in my closet would cause mold or something. I know my box would be too much air flow and cause them to dry unevenly, any other suggestions?
