I finally finished getting my grow closet set-up. it's got plenty of light and a strong fan. The only problem is that it's a collapsible door that lets out tons of light. It can light my room through the door (annoying if i want to sleep). Is there a cheap way to cover the door? should i just get some mylar paper from lowes or something? i thought of trash bags or something like that but i hear it's a fire hazard and i'm trying to keep everything fireproof.

it's in two places but all the edges have about a half inch of space that light escapes from. I just want the light to be contained, maybe a curtain or something?

You need something heavy but it might trap heat in return. How is your ventilation set up? Is there a duct access point in your closet?

It would only be up from around 10 at night till 6 in the moring, just while i sleep. Otherwise, there's a fan and the door will usually be opened up.

Aluminum foil works pretty well as a quick fix or a large black towel. Will your fan be on overnight because otherwise it could get pretty hot. What kind of lighting schedule are you planning on? Couldn't you plan it so the lights were off while you were sleeping?

actuly I can just barly see any sort of light through them, I have to look realy good or have a light kooked up to it so that I can tell when the lights are on in my flowering room

i'm gonna start with 24 hour light, then switching to 12-12 after a month or two.

I have my closet in 2 parts, 1 for veg and the other one for flowering and it seems to work awsome

if you have a timer that you can use or if you have the money buy a timer trust me I've told alot of people that tryed to do 12/12 manuly and they keep on messing up

if you can get your hands on some 2 sided poly (1 side black 1 side white) that should be good to

How will heat escape and the plants be ventilated if you shut them in tight? Eight hours is a while to be stuck in a closet with no air coming in. You should maybe do a trial before you put your plants in. There's nothing worse than opening the door to find its roasting and your plants have fried, believe me.

no poly is pretty much plastic and if your woried about heat do a couple of cheep home made vents and try to get a couple small fans to

if his space is small like it sounds I'd have to recomend using CFL for lights
