Joint help

I figured out a way that works for me, but I haven't seen anyone else do it that way. I put the smoke in the paper and roll the paper up and down a few times so it's evenly distributed. I have the front part of the paper then just above the smoke, and lick the glue, then I have to put it down on a solid surface and roll it to the glue, and work the pressure evenly from the middle to both ends.

I had a thread like this some time last year when I couldnt roll either. Practice practice practice.
For me, the learning to tuck extra paper was easy. So place all your weed into the paper.
Roll between fingers for correct thickness and length. Then, act like your folding the paper. The side without glue, your going to fold until its under the glue strip of the other side. Its not a true fold though, because when its like that, you will roll the weed towards the glue, and it tucks the paper in tightly, so no weed escapes and you made your first step towards finishing the joint.
Now, after that first tuck and roll, roll upwards. slowly, making sure thickness and that your paper stays tucked. the more up you roll towards the glue, roll between thumbs and forefinger. but now it should be all nicely rolled, waiting to seal.
Lick the glue, and quickly do the final roll between thumb and forefinger.
you get this.

Yeah, that's the standard way. For some reason I could never roll well or tight without a hard surface to do it on. I'm just retarded that way

i think the tuck is when people make a envelope type of thing to put the weed in.. i di this, i make a small v, usually about 1/3 the length of the paper.. fill with bud, then tuck over itself so that it's tight, then i roll from there.. if my tuck is not tight, i have problems rolling the rest from there as it keeps slipping all over the place and i find it impossible to roll from there..

i usually use a hard surface to get my first tuck, and after that i can roll it in my hands, but i tend to put the gum side of the paper in my lips so i can pull it tight with them as i roll.. it helps me keep it tight.. :)

meh i used to try the hard surface thing but it never worked for me. My biggest problem when I first started was the first roll, and it just clicked one day, because when I started I had these skinny, tooth pick joints, because i tried to actually fold the paper then roll. bad idea hahaha. But as i was making my first fold one day, im like, would it work better if i just pressed it in with my thumbs instead of folding it?
well it worked, and now i sit here slightly high, gotta go finish my joint :)

Don't be jelly of my mad ms-paint skills, lol. But this is roughly how I roll a joint.

Hope it kinda makes sense?

First I roll the weed up so it's kinda of together, in the shape of a joint. Then I move the part of the paper closest to me down. Then roll it back up.

hopefully that makes sense cause I spent far too long making that shitty pic not to use it, lol.

i think that pic is great. the last picture represents my biggest obstacle when i learned to roll. it's also what i think of when i think "tuck". if it's not "tucked", and you bring the glue forward the thing basically unravels or just ends up a loose mess. i also think that the "shaping" is where a lot of people fuck up.

also, the moisture of one's fingers CANNOT be overlooked. if your fingers are too moist, they stick to the paper and fuck you up. if your fingers are too dry they "slip" on the paper and you can't shape the thing right.

i'm proud to say that despite being a total butterfingers and clumsy, shaky-handed impatient mess, i have learned to roll pretty pro joints. it really is all about practice and determination. i took it to the next level with the tips. i actually find it EASIER to roll with tips because it's like having a shaping guide.
