Hello all!! Ok so Let's talk about making hash. I'm looking at making some Dry ICE Hash. I've been reading about and seems pretty EZ. The only think I'm not sure of is how dry or fine should my trimmings be. I've read on some that is should be dry and ground down pretty fine. But then I've read the exact opposite, It should be not to dry or even kind of wet still and doesn't have to be ground up to much. What are ya'll thoughts on it. Thanks for all the input guys.

I dry it completely and chop it fine in a food processor and shake it through a 120 bag, comes out with very little green in it.

The drier and finer your material is the higher your yield will be but you will get more plant material in the hash. But since you are using dry ice in my experience you want.the material to be more dry. When I used wet material, the water from the material turned to ice and started to clog up the screen and then drip through. So I found the best is dry but not too ground up. If you do grind use your hands with neoprene gloves on do not use a coffee grinder or anything similar as this tends to break open the trichome heads which is what you are trying to collect. Dry ice hash I find is only good enough hash quality for cooking or for further refining into an oil or something similar when dealing with massive amounts of trim. You can ofciurse smoke it but I don't.think.it ends up tasting very good. Biggest yields and easiest way of making hash though def worth a try .

lots of truth here.. but I think you should try smaller screens if your not happy with the quality.. I'll try to post pics later of my end product.

Thank all for the input. I've made bubble hash before but his will be my first try at Dry ICE HASH. I'm using a hole plant for it. It was from my outdoor grow that I cut about 2-3 weeks early I figure it's good for cooking and hash making. There is a lot of frost on the immature buds so I'm hopping for the best.

I just ran 3 batches with one gallon bubble bags and dry ice. Also my first time trying this. Batch 1 was 2.5 oz of mixed trim, batch 2 was about an ounce of Querkle trim and airy buds, and batch 3 was about 1.5 oz of Querkle untrimmed bud. I first ran each batch through the 160 micron bag for a few minutes, and then into the 220 bag for a few minutes more. Everything was dried and i did not bother to break any of it down. The few minutes of shaking with dry ice completely pulverized the plant matter, even the buds. The 160 bag produced a very gold kief, while the 220 had a green tint to it. With all the plant material I used, I got about a 17% return in kief. I consider both to be wonderful icing for my cake. bongsmilie

Bullshit on the BHO is better than dry ice hash. BHO has none of the aroma and doesn't make me sneeze. :) I got both, guess what I'm smoking?

I don't bother chopping up stuff when making dry ice hash. It freezes and by the time I'm done it is all broken up. I have the best results using fresh material. Dried material seems to suck. It might even lead someone to believe that BHO is better. You should be able to do dry ice. let it dry and then to QWISO or BHO with it.

translucent bho is the best hash ive ever smoked, as far as potency goes. hash is pretty instant, but BHO hits me harder. ive smoked a good share of hash, i like fine bubble, dry ice, or compressed keiff hash. i think ive smoked iso hash before, not sure.

noice! i have however found more transparent oil to be smoother on the lungs, gives me a smoother high as well. something about inducing extra heat when extracting, popping the bubble with a quick flame to pop the bubbles can do the trick, or leaving it in an oven at a very low temp for a few minutes, both help to get a more pure extract, im gonna look into vacuum purging and all that good stuff once i got the harvest and the extra dough, ill post pics here if im not too high to get to my computer, dabs just get me way too fucked up sometimes. .
