Anybody sell quality Pollen???

i often wondered this myself. but it seemed too obvious of a question to follow up. i dont think it would be in the interest of the seed companies to sell quality male pollen along side seeds as it would have an adverse effect on there sales. but surely among friends is the way forward for this kind of behavior.

I don't think pollen really lasts too long. Maybe mailed in dry ice, fast, at a really high price. Probably hard to get through customs. Gotta be frozen, gotta be pretty fresh.

I would buy it if it could be done. It would beat selecting and raising male plants.

Female plants can have as much as 20%+ THC content on the flowers, while Male may only grow as much as 3% THC content on the flowers.

"From personal experience, I have harvested a 3 month male marijuana plant, and made cannabutter from all the leaves and flowers. The end result was very disappointing; it wasn't even strong enough to give a high."

Pollen shouldn't degrade that quickly. I doubt freezing or dry ice is needed or would be good for it. Cool, dark container. A Pollen Bank is a cool idea though.

The breeders already give you pollen via their regular seed packs. Just order regular seeds of whatever strain you want and grow out the males. Although having all that floating around your ladies...

We're making seeds, not smoking it.

Right, just buy reg seeds, and choose your own male.

I have been posting the same question around lately and have not yet gotten a response. I am vegging 12 different Dutch strains at present and am considering growing out the best male phenotypes in each strain just to sequester some good pollen for future grows; however, note that in a room temperature environment, pollen will only remain viable for about 4 days before it "dies". That's why you don't have to disinfect a grow tent after pollinating if plenty of time has passed - like allowing the seeds to age in the plant.

In order to keep the pollen viable, very cold temperatures and zero humidity must be maintained; shipping with dry ice is mandatory and a regular refrigerator may not be sufficient unless it also maintains a low humidity environment.

i just tried my hand at collecting some pollen from a decent sized topped male and although there was no shortage of sacks bursting with pollen it was not exactly the easiest thing to get the pollen from the sacks into a jar without getting little male flowers in the jar it would be hard work to commercialize. still a very intresting idea it would require more research to see how long you can make pollen last
