1st time grow
2 different issues - one has dangerously thin stem; other seems to have stopped after breaking soil
Seeds: Auto Fem Northern Lights
Indoor
Using Germinationkit.com growing medium - put seeds in Friday night (10 pm) - only 2.5 days old!
Soil - damp; surrounded by perlite also damp (water mixed with Bacto - supposed to contain beneficial micro-organisms).
Temp 78 - 81
Humidity - kept at 75-80 during germination, then backed off gradually (over 12 hours) to 50 once broken through soil.
1) Thin stem: I realized the thin stem meant it was too far away from the light, so I moved it closer (stem was thin and long, but not this bad). Have since covered/propped up thin stem with soil, have had a fan on low blowing since start (air speed low enough that it isn't blowing plant over - just enough to regulate temp/humidity). Tip has become darker and thin part of stem has brownish cast. Concerned the heat is burning it. Any hope it's going to make it?
2) No growth - only concerned because it's been in the same conditions as the other seed and the other took off so quick. No change for almost a day (I know, early days, but just checking in case I need to change something). Looks like it's become browner since moved closer to lights (1 in from fluorescents).
Thanks for any feedback.
