Patek Philippe is my next purchase. Not sure which one yet but I've always loved the history of the company.

I came very very close to buying a used Patek once ... pocketwatch. I would love to have a classically unadorned pocketwatch. cn

I just don't get the appeal, other than it being a status symbol... I can't even tell the difference between a cheap watch and one of the expensive ones posted in this thread (Save for the one with the diamonds) because they all look so predictable and generic... I mean are those expensive watches? I would never have guessed, honestly.

I like stylized pieces... I would carry a pocket watch if I had a nice one... or a nice steampunk piece mounted on leather maybe.

Style over "costly status symbols" any day...

Like you said...to each their own. Some of the watches that have been posted are VERY expensive and some are VERY cheap. For me the design and beauty in the watch is in it's style but also in the mechanics, movement, and complications of a watch. Finding a watch that is made with quality materials and quality craftmenship is what I enjoy. Not everyone can tell the difference. But that's life. I couldn't tell you the difference between a good bottle of scotch and a cheap one. But some people spend 1000's of dollars on them. To each their own.

Very nice watches made by Vacheron. Good call. Haven't seen any that were my style. Excellent craftmenship though.

Yea, that's an Hublot Unico GMT in Black Ceramic. You can tell it's a Hublot by the case and the screw positioning.

I had a Bertolucci VIR Automatic stolen. They smashed the window on my rental car in Nicaragua about 5 years ago and took my backpack. Forgot the watch was in there till I got back to the house. So pissed.

I do like a nice watch.

For general: Omega Seamaster Professional (and I can't dive due to my ears being knackered, lol.....but I love the watch!)

And for dress: Jaeger Le Coultre - Reverso.
