he could close off his other vents if its too cold in the other rooms or it could just end up being the amount of cooling he needs.. and if its not enough, at least he didnt spend any cash good thinking jsamuel

true downside t5 cant be sealed up and cooled lol.

i think that was a very smart move since you dont run co2.

I definitely want it to work, but I'd get annoyed having to run a full house central air just to cool a room. Seems a bit tedious if the rest of your house isn't almost the same temp. You'd have to manually engage it unless you moved the thermostat to the closet too.

Getting a wall unit is a big undertaking as I would have to cut into my exhisting outside wall to install it correctly. I keep my house at about 74 degrees (well i keep it at 72 but the fiance gets pissed that it is that low.) I know just from opening the door when the lights are on I get a 7 degree shift from the air that comes in from my computer room. Figure if I can get the grow room to stay at the same temp as the rest of the house unlike it is now that I will be able to keep it in that 76-82 degree range I am looking for. Heading back up to the attic now will let you guys know how it works out.

Why not run a fan into an existing A/C ducting in the attic? That way it diverts cool air to you when its running, and then pulls cool air from your house when it isn't running. More of a supplement to your idea really.

If this doesnt cool it enough I am going (when I have money again) to pull air from a bedroom on the other side of the house over to the grow room. I really think this will do what I want it to though. Also I could look into setting up a second thermostat in the grow room, or relocating the current one into the grow room and let the grow room set the pace for the house, but i think that would keep the hvac on way to often. got the hole in the ceiling cut now just have to crawl back up and do the ducting without cutting my head any more on the damned roofing nails. lol

Yeah, that's what I was getting at with the thermostat. You can get incidental cooling whenever the rest of your house gets cooled, however there's no temp regulation for your closet then. If you control the temp in your closet, your house will be unregulated. If it works for you, that would be bad-ass though. For the record, I'm not trying to destroy your plan or anything. I promise. :p

IMHO my grow room is more important then the temp elsewhere in the house (dont think my fiance would agree but she isnt home while i am working on it lol) I like it cooler in the house durring the summer anyways so I *think* this will work. though it looks like I may not finish today. I dont think I have anything to cut the 6 inch hole in the distribution box. Somehow lost some of my tools and I just smoked so no more driving to home depot today :(

I used to drive after I smoked or pretty much anything I used to do, but my fiance is really against driving after you smoke. Just easier to not do it then listen to her bitch at me for doing it. It was raining today and the temps didnt get high at all so it wont hurt putting off finishing it till tomarrow. Besides, my back is killing me from crawling all the way over to where my room is. Two of the rooms walls are external walls, so with the pitch of the roof it gets very tight working over that room. And the roofing nails hitting you in the head and the back suck ass too. Think I only have to crawl over there one more time tomarrow though to hook up the duct to the vent so things could be much worse.

Oh yeah, just realized that our light period is still not enough for veg yet here in Ca :P I started with 4 of these fire og's but one was a pain in the ass durring the first spider mite fiasco so i just put it outside in my boat. Went out there today to spray it with mighty wash and to do some toping and noticed that hey, she is in flowering mode :P You can tell I dont ever pay any attention to her since she is about a week further along in flower in looks then my inside girls are.

Hey jsamuel. I couldn't tell if my pm went through or if it just disappeared so i'll post here just in case. Your plants look good. If you haven't already tapped into your cooling ducts I would consider a different and simpler option. I'm not sure how your HVAC is setup in CA, but here most residential systems have cool air pumped in low and hot air ventilated through the ceiliing(attic). In any HVAC system the number 1 rule in efficiency is pumping out the heat.. its easier than pumping in the cool. If you simply vent the hot air out of your closet, that air should be replaced with cooler air from the adjacent room assuming its cooled

Interesting. She is flowering with a 13:46 day. wonder when she will revert back into veg. Any ideas?
I have heard that going from 24/7 light to outdoor can cause flowering sometimes. Might have been just enough to kick it over. How flowered does she look?

She looks like she is about 3 weeks in or so. When it stops raining I will take a pic and show her off a bit.
