Are we talking American "Conservatives" (Aka the GOP) or are we talking Conservatives worldwide?

Are we talking Social Conservatives (well you don't need a "study" to know they're dumb) ? Are we talking Fiscal Conservatives?

Give us more details man, "Conservative" "Liberal" "Left" and "Right" all mean different things internationally ;)

The control groups for all the studies cited are in the US and Canada so I assume the articles refer to those countries as well.

Again tho, "middle of the road" surely doesn't mean Centrist? The kind of political philosophy that 99% of people are in reality but only like 0.5% of the people we vote for are? The kind of political philosophy that involves not having an ideological goal, only practical solutions to problems?

Or does it mean someone who's part Republican and part Democrat?

EDIT: "Centre" is know as "Liberal Conservatism" over your side apparently, "liberal"
on social issues, conservative in the free market sense and generally supportive of moderate social security, etc.

By being an "Economic liberal" youre technically a "Fiscal Conservative"...see how backwards it gets? It's considered "Conservative" because it's the "traditional" model for the US before socialism started to rear its dirty head over there, which is considered "Liberal".

Keep posting articles from members of the Heritage Foundation. Any conservatives do that on this board and they are chastised, but if it promotes liberals (only if you read the beginning, btw) it gets quite an interesting response.

First, IQ tests are not even referenced in the article (probably because smart people know they are completely scientifically inaccurate). Instead they use SAT scores and basic math and reading. Second, it is clearly stated that the intent is actually social conservatives.

This has already been posted before, I see several columnist also have the inabillity to actually read the studies because thats not what most of these demostrate from my interpretation, If you would read the study yourself carefully you will see the same results are actually very clear. (not in this initial link which is vague and has little sources but the following post and the previous thread on this)

My interpretation and observation is that American Conservatives tend to be more rational thinkers while American Liberals are more logical, which is clearly pointed out in philosophical studies and also explains the results of these studies. It is important to have both ration and logic, however, logical people tend to think they are smarter than rational people because as an example they are usually better at mathmatics. It is simply different ways of thinking.

WTF? Are you calling all American "Conservatives" a Republican? Because if you are, you're dead wrong.

I'm a very conservative American who would NEVER call myself a Republican!
