are you a fellow avid lucid dreamer Mr. Dream?
I can't say that I am. I've had lucid dreams, and have occasionally tried controlling my dreams with varying degrees of success, but haven't pursued lucid dreaming to any meaningful degree.

There wasn't that much though behind my handle.... I originally came across the term while looking into Australian Aboriginal beliefs and thought it was an interesting concept.

With all due respect the bible has changed a lot since 400AD. Are you asserting that the Codex Sinaiticus (The oldest known bible in existence) is word for word, precept upon precept the same as a copy of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Bible? They don’t even have the same number of books in them.

As the saying goes, “Actions speak louder than words”. Yet I see legions of Christians who insist that we trust biblical interpretations over the evidence that surrounds us. If you believe that god created the universe and you want to study god’s creation, you will learn far more by actuall analysis of (running experiments on) the universe, instead of deferring to a book of dubious origin. Forging religious texts has been done countless times. I’m not aware of anyone who has created a false universe in order to deceive believers. So why prefer the book?

If god exists, he must be really frustrated. Here he went and created this totally awesome universe, with just the right number of dimensions and slightly uneven distribution of mass so that beings like us could come into existence and ponder the nature of the universe… and what do we do? Reject all that data, write up a book of mythology and then fight over it…. That’s seriously fucking depressing. If you believe in god and want to show him respect, then quit insulting his creation by denying it.
I do agree that God is VERY FRUSTRATED. Jesus said" Will I even find faith on earth when I return?" God destroyed the world once through water. Now the earth is reserved for unquenchable fire that will melt all the elements with fervant heat. Jesus came to change our hearts. To show us how to live as a servant rather than puff ourselves up as our own gods.
Whoever follows the Lord will suffer greatly. Physically, emotionally, and pshychologically. Its not easy because Satan owns this world and is the Prince of the power of the air. Meaning an "unseen force" that has all authority. Jesus bought some believers back to Himself that some may be saved from eternal death. Its obvios the world is doomed. Jesus is the only way to be saved wheather someone acts on it or not. The "MANY" are destined for destruction, just as the "FEW" are destined for eternal life. Jesus taught that the first in this world will be last in the kingdom of heaven, and the last in this world will be the first in heaven. Anyone who doesnt want to believe that one must repent and purify yourself as He is pure has every right.
Christians are no better than anyone else. Matter of fact, we put others before ourselves if we obey Jesus.

Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus has come to bring life. Follow him and live. Do not follow him and die with the rest of the world. Its that simple. You worship whom you obey. Jesus said, "Anyone who sins is a slave to sin." Jesus came to set us free from sin through His perfect sacrafice.
Once you are set free from sin, You recieve the Holy Spirit, which is God. He comes to live in your heart as a spirit of love and truth and will guide and lead you into all truth. The world does not know Him nor do they want to know Him because they cannot except Him. Thats what Jesus taught. I feel blessed that the Lord revealed Himself to me in a powerfull way or Ide still be thinking like the rest of you.(not meant as a self-superior dig). I was lost and now Im found. Was blind but now I see. I know the truth because the truth lives in me.

Awesome reply dude. Is the thought process you laid out in your response typical of the way your mind works throughout the day? It's like Cornholio drank a gallon of sacramental wine.

Thank you midg. for your very heartfelt rant. I am offering a 6 week course in biblical speak so that people of all beliefs can convey their thoughts using ancient pronouns and incomplete sentences such as: "beware all of thee who may cast out a heavy stone for great goods and merits may be yours. Live in me not inside of me, forever".

I think that with a little work your rant could be turned into a decent two act play suitable for professional company. Carry on.

Books were written by men, therefore.... books are fallible. especially when said books were written by wandering desert cultists.
Especially when it was dirty politicians getting the interpretations written...like King James...that decided women cheaters were to be killed by stoning, but men cheaters were not to go after other men's wives because they would soon run out of women...so it's fine for men and terrible for women...Aww man there are so many places where you can just see how this guy would have skewed the writings to suit his own needs...all you have to do is look him up...lol. So the bible as most people know it is not accurate, but most people know that...I would like to think that the message is the same, but since I don't read/speak Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic I will never know...and since some sections were intentionally left out or replaced with each translation and edition it would be nearly impossible to find all the scraps of it...I mean who can fly around and check all those things? I have always been interested in the history of religions and the roles they have played in their respective societies, and it is interesting to say the least, but I won't get into all that here and now. Most bible writings didn't mention Jesus...though...aww man, I gotta go before I trod on someone else's beliefs.

"but allot of the dead sea scrolls will show he acted a little less humble"

got any sources for that? cause from what i heard they dont mention jesus at all...
You are correct, they mention a "Teacher" who has been identified as having very many commonalities with the character we call Jesus but nowhere in the Essene Library is the name Jesus mentioned. They also predate (time they were placed in the jars) the time of Jesus by nearly two centuries. Some of these texts are also very similar to some of the Gnostic gospels and "The Book of Enoch" was also included.

I feel blessed in not thinking like you do.
Your feeling blessed to not believe what the Bible says? Every thing I stated comes from the Word of God. Your argument is not against me but against God and the Truth. Good luck with that one.Its a dreadfull thing to fall into the hands of an angry God. This world is doomed to burn and all the bodies in it. The Lord said "luckily those days would be shortened because noone would survive it." Its coming whether you believe it or not. The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand! Repent and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ or perish. The Lord will sweep away the chaff and throw it into the fire to be burned with unquenchable fire. Run! RUN to the Lord and away from all the evil in the world and be saved.
God is love. He gave His own life to change our hearts and our minds to show us the truth on how to serve oneanother in love, gentleness, and self control. Whats wrong with that. Everything that makes us angry in this world is whats gonna perish in the end. The wicked, those who have hurt you, shall be judged and perish for eternity unless they repent and stop this behavior.

Its not a christians job to go door to door pushing our beliefs on anyone. Its our job to live holy, blameless lives, of love and truth, and to seek those that are ready to listen, and who want to have a personal relationship with God. To seek out those who want to learn. But not just to learn what some book says, but to experience the POWER that comes with those words of truth. Its very powerfull. If God spoke and the wind and the waves obey Him than imagine what kind of impact His word can have on our hearts. The filling/recieving of the Holy Spirit is all one needs to know the truth.
Without it we are tossed to and fro on the waves of every doctrine that sounds good to us. The Holy Spirit reveals the truth. It takes belief and repentance and to recieve the Holy Spirit. We want to obey the Lord because we trust Him. We have found that He gave His own flesh for us to be able to be forgiven in order that the blood of Jesus purifys my heart in Gods eyes and now I can house the Spirit of God in this jar of clay for a body. Something so powerfull in this fragile dieing body is such a miracle.

I can physically feel the powerfull prescence of God burning in my heart and soul like a loving holy fire that softly speaks to my heart and reminds me of everything He spoke while on earth to guide me and lead me into all righteousness. I have a long way to go before Im like Him and live in godliness but Im on my way. "He who believes in Christ MUST walk as He walked. " Thats a beautiful road of self denial and suffering.
"Anyone who gains his life in this world will loose it in the next. He who looses his life in this world for my sake and the kingdoms will gain it for eternal life." -JESUS This is why many are on the road to destruction and very few on the path to eternal life.

Have you ever considered the thought... that you were just pretending?

Religion and spirituality are ideas that we shouldn't need to give up... these are ideas we eventually grow out of, and we just need to let them go.
It's funny, children eventually stop believing in santa clause, it seems to me they have a lot more sense than too many adults that i know.

Ideas without any grounds for evidence should be dismissed as mere thought without any claims to certainty, but a lot of people actually have this psychological need (disease) to hold on to made up truths in the absence of them... and that makes ones mind immune to reason, contemplation, or thoughts beyond those that are taught to them, or that they barrow from others.

Why do people have this psychological need to claim truth, where none can really be found? I think that is a very important question that needs to be addressed.

No no no no. No. No. God loves women too. And it's not OK for either partner to cheat. People usually point to Numbers 5 when they talk about women and adultery. Numbers 5:11 starts the "Test for an unfaithful wife". If a man suspected his wife of adultery, he wasn't allowed to punish her in any way. He had to take her to the priest and he would test her for infidelity by having her drink from a cup that would do nothing if she were innocent and would leave her barren if she had been unfaithful. This was a supernatural test that took away a man's right to "punish" his wife himself. This wasn't to punish women, it was to protect them. Because of this law, a husband couldn't just beat the piss out of you if he suspected you of cheating. Second of all, if I were a woman who had been faithful, and was being accused of infidelity, i'd drag my husband to the priest myself! That fucker! (lol) And it's not applicable to men because men don't give birth, and because a husband had nothing to fear from an angry wife, really. If she thought he was cheating, she isn't very capable of beating him senseless the way he could her. And it does say both men and women must be put to death for adultery in Deuteronomy 22: 22. Dueteronomy also has passages that protect women from being raped, men are stoned if they rape a woman, in 22:25. In 22:13 he protects women from being "defiled" by saying basically if you ruin this girl's reputation without justification you're in trouble. And in 21:10 it protects foreign women who are taken as slaves or captives of war from being "dishonored" too. If you wanted to fuck her, you had to clean her up, let her mourn her family, and marry her first. If you married her, diddled her, and decided you didn't want her to be your wife anymore, you had to give her her freedom. You couldn't keep her as a slave or tarnish her name. Missnu I have always wanted to ask you what in the hell your avatar is a picture of? I have stared at that thing so many times while I was baked and...what is it?
