Crazy name. I am only beginning to try other great genetics myself. I have grown only a few different ones for some years now. Is the Fire OG a sativa or indica hybrid? It's good you have a buddy who knows the genetics. Can't wait to see those hos.

Here is Cannabis Search's description and history Duder

Classification: Indica (60%)/sativa (40%)
Parents: OG Kush x San Fernando Valley OG Kush
Growing Environment: Indoor/greenhouse
Garden Skills: Intermediate
Flowering Time: 9 - 10 weeks
Yield: Moderate
Medical Uses: Pain relief, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, appetite stimulation
Breeder: Raskals OG Kush

Widely regarded as the most potent of the OG strains, Fire OG Kush delivers some of the most frosted buds known to the medical marijuana community. Pristinely crossed with the original OG Kush strain and the F2 hybrid, San Fernando Valley OG Kush, Raskals OG has truly gifted the MMJ industry with one of the best medicinal strains around. These buds look like snow-covered mountains with dancing flames of wildfire sparsely strewn about the foliage.
Like most OG strains, it’s recommended for someone with a few grows under their belt to cultivate this miraculous strain. A fairly consistent 9 to 10 week flowering period can be expected, but those who are patient enough to wait until around 70 days will be thrilled with the swelling of the buds and nearly double the resin production as in weeks 8 or 9. When still in the ground, these flowering ladies give off a strong lemon scent, similar to a cleaning agent, with an added dankiness. Harvesting is typically pain-free with a high calyx-to-leaf ratio. Fire OG also makes great mother plants, producing consistent phenotypes that tend to root within 10 to 14 days.
Prepare to be highly medicated - no pun intended - for up to 3 hours (depending on tolerance) when you blaze with Fire OG Kush. This strain is not intended for new or slightly inexperienced users and can cause severe couch-lock in these types of patients. For the average smoker, this bud will serve well as either an afternoon or evening medication, great for pain relief, those suffering from severe panic attacks, anorexia and more. Eighths of this bud can range in price from $55 to $70, depending where in California you are. Well, you have all the information you need, what are you waiting for? Go grab yourself some Fire OG, and I’m not just talking about the strain. This bud is straight fire.

Looks great jS! That canopy filled out beautifully! Look at that screeeen! Can't wait to see the buds.
They are starting to fill out slowly but surely. I am glad I know someone who has used these genetics for so long or else I would be freaking out that the buds arent looking as full as other peoples on day 18. But from talking to my friend these girls are right on track. Does anyone else hate this stage of flowering. I get so impatient right about now and I just want to be in week 7 or 8 allready lol

Yeah, this is the worst part... your veg development slows down and it's like watching paint dry for a bit... but soon you will be breaking into the good times!

GDP is a lot of fun. I had a few back in the day. I still remember how heavy the yield was. Looking forward to the flower updates.

Flowering Day 20 Update.

Hows it going folks. Here is the day 20 update. Still hitting the girls with spray to make sure to finish off the mites once and for all this time. Or at least till flowering over takes them in speed. I have a slight PH problem, ph is a little too high so I need to figure out a way to lower it tomarrow without going to the store and spending more money. Anyways here the girls are.

I swear those spider mites are a pain in the ass. I got them when we bought some OG clones from a guy - didn't know it at the time. Watch out for them coming back in week 5 and 6 like a vengeance. I thought I had mine gone, and then they just re-appeared in week 6. Been using Mighty Wash on them since, but I am still finding some leaves with eggs on them. Spider mites suck. And, they seem to REALLY like OGs.

I'm not going to give em ground this time. I plan to keep spraying till I cant anymore. I knew my guy pretty well and when I got the clones neither of us knew he had em. When I found em on mine the first time I called him and he said he didnt, till he went out and checked his clone room. Heh he was thankful I let him know since he was getting ready for his large outdoor project.

I like the GDP, especially the final product. I am going back in forth between GDP and Grape Ape but cant make up my mind. (very limited space so choice is important) Have you run it before?

Your canopy is looking good, hope you get all of the mites.

I havent run it before. It will be my third strain ever. First was Mr. Nice Guy which was a disaster lol. Now on this Fire OG and next will be GDP. And I think Girl Scout Cookies after the GDP.

I grew some GDP on my first run. My neighbor grows it outdoor every year. It puts off some beefy colas outside. It was looking good indoor, but I didn't tie it up and gravity chopped it 2 weeks early for me... Does seem to be a good ScrOG candidate. I LST'd it a bit, and it took to it well. It's definitely an Indica heavy one that I have though, this stuff went from zero to bush in a week. It grows fast and mine takes 1200 ppm in hydro like a champ. It's a tough one to over fert from what I can tell.

Sounds like just what I am looking for to learn hydro on. I still dont know what Hydro setup I am gonna build however. Torn between a few ideas but I have to keep the costs down as low as posible and I really want to leave soil except for keeping mother plants in soil. Anyone have any ideas for me?

I have DWC and a home-made 9 site ebb and flow. During the summer, I can see one big rez being advantageous; as it's easier to cool. I get ridiculous growth in my dwc though. My GDP went from 3" barely rooted clone, to 18" and bigger than the 5 gal. bucket it's in over the course of 18 days. The biggest downside to a non-recirculaing DWC is it's a bit tedious to change a bunch of individual rez's. A bunch of rez changes once a week in 5 gal buckets gets a bit old. Though I'm thinking about setting it up so I can use a siphon from autozone to drain and fill the buckets easier.

I am thinking about building a RDWC. I just dong like doing plumbing through curves (only cause I am lazy) I know kitty litter comes in I think 3 gallon square buckets. Does anyone know anywhere that sells 5 gallon square buckets by chance? I prolly could get some 3 gallon square buckets from some friends but I think I would want more then 3 gallons, right KP?
