How to grow a monster 20' plant?

I didn't want to keep posting on someone else's thread, so I made a new one. I'm looking for tips from people who have grown large 15' or taller plants outside. I'm curious to known when you started, how long did you veg, and how did you prepare the soil before transplanting or sowing.

To date, my best grow was done in a single 4x4x2 raised beds. I only ever had two to three cannabis plants growing at a time and they averaged about five and six feet tall. When I tried growing in 10 gallon smart pots the plants were even smaller, only about four feet tall.

This year I don't know if I should build multiple raised beds with one plant per bed, buy two 100 gallon smart pots, or dig large holes and fill it with potting soil. I'm growing on my own land for myself. My beans come from Green House Seeds. I attached two photos below. I started them indoors under 200W 18/6 light schedule. Its about three weeks from seed. If all goes well, I'm looking to transplant them outside this weekend. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

How tall are your plants? Your growing in 45 gallon smart pots this year, right? Have you finish with those before?

I want the monster plant with absolutely no yield. Just kidding. Of course yield matters, and so does taste, and potency and all that good stuff. I've been at this for a while and for years I've been happy with six foot plants, but during this past week I've been seeing so many post about large plants that now I'm on a mission to grow one.

get some sativas and move to hawaii.

just kidding. i have a buddy that grows them 14 feet tall or so in the wet, cold foothills of western oregon's coastal range. cover crops are important, sowing large plants right into the ground at the right time of year is important to.

he puts his out in june, not late april. why? the ground is still pretty darn cold in late april, might as well wait until the ground is warm. kinetic energy matters.

also, a greenhouse is helpful. like bringing the indoors out, but not really because you're still in the outdoors.

i'm indoor mostly, did my first outdoor last year and ended up with 6 footers, plan on beating 8 feet this year with slightly modified methods.

Hey what's the biggest you've seen roots get on a cannabis plant?

Someone I just barely met was telling me the roots only go two feet down and they mostly grow outward. Can anyone else confirm or tell me if this is wrong? The largest set of roots I've seen with my own eyes was a root bound plant growing in a five gallon bucket. What have you all seen?

yes, they do only go a couple feet down. Any deeper and they don't get the oxygen cannabis roots need. Wider the better. I don't what your obssession with tall plants is...I've had 15ft. lats that didn't yield much over a pound, and had 6 footers with 5 pounds on em'.......I don't get your logic. There is nothing that says taller is heavier, and in most cases it's not.

Nice, thanks for the info. That saves me from digging a six foot hole. I was thinking of tearing up my raised garden and digging down another two feet or just buying the 100 gallon Big Bag Bed from Smart Pots that's a lot wider then it is tall.

I'm not worried about a big low yielding plant. I think that happens when you feed to much nitrogen to the plants and you force them to stretch. I've seen that happen with tomato plants, where you fertilize to much and you get huge vines but no tomatoes. I feel like I have a good handle on my nutrient feeding and I don't think that's what's limiting my plant's growth. So far a huge container the only thing I haven't tried. Can't hurt right?

Start your plant in January. Top the living hell out of it for 4 months while its growing in a 20 gallon pot. At the end of April or May 1st, T/P it into the 10' round X 4' deep hole that was prepped at the end of last summer. Enjoy a monster at end of year.
