Everyone has a "tough guy" story...

It never really occurred to me until the other day when I met a friend of a friend.

He told me some story about a guy cutting him in traffic off last week and how he got out of his car and scared the "little bitch" until he drove off. I remember just sitting there and thinking, "why do I care?"

Does this ever happen to you? When you meet new people do they ever tell you their "tough guy" story to try and impress you?

A lot of people are like that these days, it's pretty pathetic, but people just care about being accepted by others and looking "cool" in front of others.

Yepp people feel the need to tell me how good they are at fighting... I get it more than the average person I'd say.. And it's always the guys who are sooo cool..

Yeah I just thought it was really weird. I remember hearing those types of stories during high school, but now it is just awkward.

Half the grown ass men I run into in public act like high school kids. I hate people these days, people have too much problems, some just can't grow up.

I used to be pretty good or maybe just a little bit above mediocre at fighting at an amateur competition level... I've even got a couple of medals in a cupboard somewhere...

My tough guy story would be punching my twin in the face when around 15 years old because he was wearing my jumper :p I see no point in fighting or bragging about fighting or being tough. I'm normally the one on the receiving end generally because i tell them they can hit me all they want and it'll solve none of their issues, while i normally end up bleeding i tend to use my brain and make them feel like an utter twat in the aftermath, more often thatn not i don't have to use my brain at all and when people learn what happened mr tough guy ends up losing his gf and his friends suddenly see him as a dick :D Being mr tough guy rarely does any positive things for your reputation unless the beating was severely justified.

I've had people do that. I have a worse version of this though back in high school.

It was like the day after a party, I didn't go because I'm not a party person. One kid I knew at the time (wasn't really a friend, but always acted like we were) went around school telling everyone this girl basically came onto him and he couldn't help himself. When he was telling the story, what it really translated to in my head was : The dude raped the girl and was running around with a cover story because he had a girl friend at that time. He was kind of that guy who was twitchy and full of shit.

Anyway, I've been involved in enough over elaborate stories to know they're dramatized and less of an account of what actually happened.
