Well, another week down and I also ripped my old setup down in hopes to reduce my temps, (104max
)
All the Auto's are in flowering mode now and are all showing pistils and white hairs. I re-arranged my tent and moved it against the other wall in my closet so that I could put two fans for exhaust and one for intake. Not the most luxurious setup but better than what I had. I only have the one LED light right now because of the room so all the Auto's are CFL growing. Either way, enjoy! Fruit Auto is starting to stink up the room a little bit so I am going to see what I can do about that. Anyone heard of using a bag of charcoal for the smell? A family member suggested it, just wanted some input.

Transplanting soon to Hydrofarm 3 gallon pots. The leaves are pointed up at a 45' angle which is always a good sign. The Rapid Afghan are slightly more vigorous than the White Express, but all in all, looks ok. Forgive my use of Miracle Grow. It kills me, but i couldnt make it out of town to the hydro shop before the Solo cups. Don't judge me....
These look to be hydro pots but can be used for soil as well. The pots seem pretty Heavy duty and thick. They also have holes for LST which i WILL be implamenting. The drainage is SICK!

Thank you for sharing Crunch Man! Do you have a thread for your grow? If so I will sub undoubtedly. Glad you like the ladies as I am itching to get them finished. Sometimes you gotta do whatcha gotta do as far as venting your grow goes. I had all sorts of heat problems when I first started and continued to have them as I added more lights. I'd always figure a way to regulate it to my satisfaction. Once I had that issue under control then I'd eventually start fucking around and making things look pretty and efficient. heh.
You're a little further along in your grow than I am and so far I haven't had odor problems. At least not so much that it over comes what i smoke all day in the house. With that being said i picked up a 10lb bag of active carbon and when I have any issues in the future I'll build myself a DIY carbon filter and that should take care of it when placed over the exhaust.

Well...LOL...looks like you have two "Hi-Jackers" on-board now! One even has a mask to make the image complete...JK, guys. It's all good. Love to see the pics. Love this thread and will sub it when done posting. Couple of things /concerns/questions.
1.) Heat solution: Less CFL's and more LED's. Be sure to use at least 3 watt chip sets for better penetration of canopy...You can get them up to 5watt, now (Solar Storm / Flare) those are VERY pricey units, though.
2.) I am a bit confused after reading this whole thread...what was the Germ date? I'm Trying to see how mine are doing compared with yours, as I believe they are slow due to early stress but LOOK nice, anyway (it's all in the thread below)...
3.) How about a Nutes update..I'm not sure I did the right thing mixing down my grow medium, as I will not be able to keep a good schedule..I was/am shooting for pretty much "maintenance - free" once outdoors.
4.) I, too am a "First timer"...not counting one VERY stunted (but otherwise beautiful) Mystery NL photo outdoor grow a couple years ago. Got just UNDER an eighth dried bud yield, ONE frosty leaf Joint rolled LOOSE and smoked FRESH, and about a half BB-sized ball of fresh (not dried, just chopped, trimmed leftovers), ice hash...may end up posting that in a journal, embarrassing as it was, it was KILLER smoke! My germ date is the 23rd of March, I'm going OUTSIDE in TWO days with the whole thing (4 Strains)! I will have to let you know that I try and even hide the smoke when I do smoke so when my family member said that I need to cover up the smell, I got worried. I think a bag of charcoal should work. And for the heat issue, yes it gets to 100F but I have a Co2 bag which is supposed to help since it opens the plants' pores. The smell is not horrible by any means but I know once the plants start getting actual flowers and buds, the smell might get rediculous. For the heat issue, I am going to be working less in the next month so I will be able to have my fan pointed at my closet and also have the door open more, plus I will make sure that the A/C is up aaannnd, I got a new ceiling fan for my room which I am going to install soon. Wooo yeah!

Okay man, first thing first. NO MORE HI-JACKERS! Second thing, the germ date is unknown because I had a thread prior to the "Hi-Jacking'' of the RIU.com site and it was removed. I believe that the Auto's are closing in on the end of the 4-5weeks this upcoming Sunday. They were stunted a bit due to over nuting? I have a bad habit of this, but flushing seemed to help. I almost lost my Jack Herer (photo plant, see my other thread) twice due to nute kill. My soil is listed in the first few pages in this thread as I really do not wish to post this again man, sorry. Nutes are listed as well. Sorry you do not get the royal treatment since you are hi-jackin' but for real I am going to sub your grow and look forward to your pics and upcoming reports. Good Luck and stay tuned for this Sunday's pics! HAHAHAHA! And your "Heat Solution'' involves me spending more money, which I have spend well over enough already! LoL> But I am working on selling the one UFO which I do not like to get some $ back. They will live with excess C02. They might even get Lava Red Hairs which would be snazzy!

But the nutes question was more of the schedule Q, not a products Q... am unsure if I even can keep any schedule at all, really just wondered if you had started it cause last I remember was that you were holding off; I will go though the thread again, later, though. I realize the LED's are more $, too, just thought to help, as i read somewhere, here that someone had to ADD cfl's to an LED setup to bring the temp UP. Also noticed you said it had 1 Watt chips? You should get rid of THAT, for sure.
I had one other question/concern. I remember you said you TOPPED these? I really have not heard of anyone doing that with autos before, I and it would seem counter - productive, to me. Not trying to be an ass (any more than I already have

No worries man, but in regards to the nute schedule, unfortunately I have not been able to follow one (I really should be) I just mix my mix up and every once and a while feed 'em. For the topping question, yes, I have topped the Auto Blue Mystic, Auto Northern Lights, and the Auto Fruit. They all kinda underwent a little shock where the leaves grew weird for a minute but hey, the Auto Shot Adrenaline was not topped to you will be able to see a comparison. Basically topping vs. not topping with autos is either one cola (no top) or several (topped). You just gotta deal with the week or so of stress which I say is what you lose when you top. I have 2x 1LED 90Watt (1wchip) lights, and am putting the other one back in today to see how that drops the temps.Gotcha, boss. And am sorry...for real.
