Two weeks into flowering and just switched lights?

Ok so I am just about two weeks into flowering and I switched from CFL to a 400 hps
I noticed tonight my plants started to look a little limp in spots when I checked the dirt they
Where dry so I watered them real good. Should I be worried or will they be ok? Also I still have not
Seen any sign of sex. Any way could use any and all input.

How far away is the new light? Flowers take time. Sativa seems to take longer.

Its about a foot and a half above

They should have showed their sex awhile ago. Usually by the 6th node set. Take a close up picture of some of your leaf bases at the stem, we can tell from that. Be easy on the light change, start your 400 at 3' for a couple days then move it down 6" a day till it's about 16" to 20" above the canopy depending on your coverage area.

They will be just fine under this new light. they will just take a lil while to adjust, which is why they r not so happy at the moment, but it wont take them long to start loving their new light source... And I completely agree with TriPurp, in keeping it further away at first, and gradually moving it in until itz about as far away as he stated... this will help it to not be such a dramatic and sudden change, which can stress them, possibly causing hermies to pop up, even later on in the grow cycle... U can STILL keep the CFL, or CFL's in there for additional, and supplemental lighting, especially for the undersides and/or outer areas of the garden's perimeter... The 2700k CFLs would be best for flowering, however, the 6500's, or even a low wattage MH would REALLY make those things happy... The added spectrum of the MH, with the small amount of UV-B will aid in trich production, especially in the last two or three weeks of flowering... If u do decide to buy another HID kit however, I would suggest going with a HPS, because u can run MH lamps safely in them, or double down on the HPS array...either way u wanna go...

Man I love RIU you guys always give good info. This is my first grow from seed, I always started with clones
And with all your help I think they will turn out ok. Now I just need to get some more seeds.

Exactly, give your girls time to adjust to the stronger and hotter light. They will get used to it and then take off and thrive! Good luck and happy flowering.

Not all the strains I've grown, but many, have shown mild shock when put under the HPS for the first few days. Nothing to worry about unless it persists or u see burnt leaves or something simillar.

Also a few strains I'v grown have shown limpness towards the end of the day as the HPS has tired the plant out(I'm not sure of the real reason).

Careful not to overwater as its rarely whats needed and will contribute to your plants looking limp. In the long run the hps will dry out your plants more often though so you will need to water more often.

Thanks man... We do try... Hope this gives u a better feeling about your change, as it was a most excellent one... Mabye look into some supplemental CO2, if u wanna REALLY boost growth... There r several methods, and most don't involve heavy, and sometimes hard-to-find, and expensive tanks, either... Homemade, fermentation-style CO2 generators will work wonders and dramatically increase growth and yield...
