What up? Bunch of questions: What kind of led is that? soil or coco? What nuttients do you use? Good luck, along for the ride.
Yeah man, I really hope the timing is right for everything. I have autoflower's as well as the two photo strains. What I would like to have happen is by the time the auto's are finished, I can put the photo's into flowering that way they will be a pretty good size. I only have a 4x2x6 tent though. This should be interesting.Love the FAT baby leaves!!!!! Wish I'd have kept my Jack Herer it's a heavy yielder.
The green is strong with this one. I have been reading online and from what I have seen, this is a real problem. Now I have been going really light and diluted with the nutes and my soil has cow shit in it so that may be why they're so dark. So what are my options? It appears as though they are not dying so I am confused as to why this is a problem. Can you enlighten me?Too much Nitrogen man!! This green is too much dark!!
Thanks ILovePlants man! So from what you have told me and I believe to be true. They may actually have an abundance of Nitrogen since there is already cow shit in the soil. And I have been giving them small doses of nutes as well. I will flush both of them in a day or two with PH'd water. I don't really flush now since it is kind of a hassle to get the pots out of the tent. Not too big of a deal though to save the plants. And what you said about the ''fat'' plants, I have potatoes growing outside and never gave them anything. They were the darkest green leaves I have ever seen. After a couple weeks, they turned yellowish and are now sickly looking. Part of this I feel is due to lack of watering but it seems as though they simply have plant diabetes.Nitrogen abundance and nitrogen toxicity are two very different things. Your HolyGrail is simply be a darker pheno (usually abundance takes on a dark blue green hue), although from some of your pictures it appears as if some of your lower leaves have succumb to their abundance, building up salts in the cells to a toxic level killing off tissue. Abundance happens with the three main elements: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Usually you only want to push abundance part of the way through the flowering cycle as the plant ramps up its metabolism and uses more and more nutrient until the final weeks of its life; this fact isn't quite a fact, more of a feature which some cannabis growers strive to improve upon to reduce total nutrients over time. By flexing abundance, which quickly gets out of control if not handled correctly, you allow your plants "fat". Fat plants are similar to fat people on really only a few levels but I shall elaborate. Plants cannot store nearly as much energy on a daily basis due to it's lack of "fat" cells, they simply spend the chemical energy during their night cycle. Sugars are stored in the stem tissue and cell walls throughout the plant. It can only store the nutrients necessary to supply itself with energy. So the leaves and stems will build into a higher color density as they store more chemicals to create energy for the following day. The problem is that this effect of giving the plant any and all access to nutrients they need is that they will eat themselves to death. Abundance without enough pure water, and time, will quickly turn into nutrient burn. Much like diabetes the tissue that is completely destroyed from nutrient burn will not regenerate. The moral of the story is this, if you feel that they will be storing more nutrients than they will use, discontinue nutrients until you prove yourself correct, or the plant responds differently. Flushing out your salts with every watering is one of the simplest ways to go, all though in flowering I reduce my runoff to allow salts to build during critical times. If you aren't already, flush about 10-15% of your total watering out of the pot every time you water. Also if you could introduce some beneficial fungi after you rinse out that soil you may have a chance to mellow it out. Most cow manure is not processed by for the time it takes to break down all the nutrition stored in the manure. If you introduce a colony of beneficial microbes they will eat away the manure and release it over time. Honestly, I've never grown with organics and hydroponics nutrients together. It just seems a bit intense, and in the world of cannabis less is more. What the hell do I know though, I'm just a guy who loves plants.
Sincerely,
ILovePlants
Thank you man! I also just yesterday popped in a Sweet Black Angel into a semi-small pot. I figure once it gets like 1ft tall, the auto's will be done and I can switch the photo's into flowering thus making the Black Angel like a mini-auto as well. Should be interesting. Stay tuned for this weekend's new pictures!sub'd! Let's see how your Holy Grail goes! I got a freeby seed with an order and was planning on throwing it outside for light dep in the next few months! I'll be checking in!![]()
UPDATE:
I just dropped in a Sweet Black Angel Bean yesterday to grow it with the other photos, it will be a very small 12/12 plant, so hopefully it will be similar to an auto. Stay tuned and stay frosty!
From what I have read as well, the SBA is very strong as well. Not a day use strain, LoL. Either way, yeah man, here is the deal. I plan to start flowering my photo's as soon as the Auto's appear that they are really close to finishing up (after flushing, of course). But I will absolutely keep this thread and the other one up to date with flowering dates and also week by week updates! Good luck! *Stay Frosty*I've heard/read the sweet black angel is some potent dank. I've got one going myself. Its been vegging for almost 60 days now and will continue to veg because I don't have the space to flower! Perhaps I'll be able to flower mine at the same time you flower yours! heh.
Looking good. A CFL/LED grow, I love it. My next grow is going to be 300wCFL/180wLED.
+subbed!
