WTF is the difference: GOP VS Tea Partiers???

I am writing a paper on the Tea Party movement. My original intent was to show that the original Ron Paul Tea Party movement is much different than the Michelle Bachmann Tea Party wierdos. In writing this, I have yet to find a difference between the mainstream Sarah Palin style Tea baggers and the regular old GOP'ers. They are the same on foreign policy, social issues, and economic issues. Please tell me wtf is the difference k thx. :wall:

Not much difference since the repubs hijacked the Tea Party when they saw how much money and how fast it was raised when Ron Paul started it up in his campaign last time.

The TEA party started out as a reaction against the mainstream Republicans in their headlong growth of the government, but it has been pretty much co-opted by the standard Republican party, with all the social issues. It was a very good thing for a while.

I had a major DERP moment. Like 5 pages into my paper comparing the "libertarian tea party" to the "conservative tea party", I realized I was just comparing Ron Paul to the GOP. bongsmilie

I consider myself a grass roots tea party person. I'm not really affiliated with any party.

The difference I see is that the originals are more fiscally conservative and more socially more liberal than what we see today. What they are passing off as Tea Party today is not the Tea Party that I partook in.

In the beginning it was to reduce taxes, reduce the size of government, and getting the government out of our lives. At every meeting I attended at difference site this was the message. That isn't what I'm hearing now.

But fear not they think they have control of us. Secret is no one has control the tea party is not a structured entity. We came together for a common cause and it did not include the real GOP. The Tea Party in Michigan in an organized and unorganized way took over part of the Michigan GOP. We took over caucus seats! They were really pissed.

I think when the election is in full swing I think you'll see the grass roots again doing what they want no matter what the GOP says.

I can't even find reliable sources covering Ron Paul supporters reenactment of the Boston Tea Party, its like a big fucking cover up. I found video clippings on youtube but I can't source those. This is lame. Help would be appreciated.

What other members of government are true Ron Paul Tea Partiers? Obviously Rand Paul and Senator Tom Davis, but I am having a hard time differentiating between the original members and the posers.

Pretty much all the ones who are against social liberties are posers, thats all of the "famous" ones aside from the three you mentioned, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin's sheeple. Libertarians are not against social liberties, they are trying to circumvent the liberty movement by getting them on the republican side really. The democrats actually do the same thing but the opposite. Finally, the republicans and Democrats there is really no difference between those two either.

They way I see it everyone is a libertarian just depending on what degree and left or right and center to far. The Democrats/Republicans or I like to call them Republicrats are the same thing they just pander to either left or right libertarians but they are all authoriatrian pieces of shit on the same team.
