Never had to ask for help until now but i'm at my witts end and considering shutting down my grow, keep in mind I love to grow I just dont have the luxury of "tweaking" out on it for hours like some do, so the little time I can put it in is very valuable and its starting to cost me money
So i'm growing under 1000w lights, in soil, My veg room is a 400w light, I always check my trichomes before harvesting, there's nothing wrong with my strains, they're for the most part indica hybrids, and 2 of my other friends grow from the same genetic, they've both had bigger and denser buds than me
My first grow I used the 3 part GH system it was a great success for a first time grow, my second time around I started nute burning my plants bad...I also started up a veg garden so ph balancing my water was a huge pain
I found out about lucas formula and it was a god send to me, however most of the people who use the lucas formula also use hydro, i eventually found a post from lucas in regards to soil he basically says you need to flush your plants out between feedings or use 1/3-1/4th str fert, so i started using flora nova bloom 2ml/gal every watering
Well my plants acted very positively, they had great growth in veg, however the flowering plants i had didn't have great bud growth, pretty airy and small buds but good quality, I blamed other things than lucas (plants were stretched, it was cold, etc) well these last couple of grows the weather has been great and the buds were just ridiculously small (im talking not even ping pong ball sized), I tried moving the light closer, all it seemed to do was burn the tops of my plants and the buds didn't get any denser or bigger.
At this point i'm starting to blame my nutes or watering strategy, I've recently switched over to full force lucas 8ml/gal of nova and am gonna see how it goes
Does anyone have any suggestions for me as far feeding my plants goes? Should I be using more nova? or maybe a diff formula during veg? My most recent crop is nearly done and the buds are marble sized and very airy, its terrible...
The only other thing I can think of is maybe I'm causing some sort of stress in veg thats making them grow slow in flower?
