I disagree. First of all, i grow my own..so I don't have to smoke swag. Second point: Michigan is flooded with crappy meds, grown by the stoners that jumped on this movement.

But you're still wrong. Who bred these strains you're smoking on? Who bred the parents of those strains? A stoner perhaps? You think the law would have passed without the stoners?

Nope..never said that. They were certainly part of the equation. I said the law didn't pass because of stoners. Sure, they participated..but the 63% vote came form the older voter, not stoners.
If stoner"s could muster that kind of voting power, we'll have legal cannabis next year...How is that signature drive coming?
As far as breeders and strains..it's way overdone..too many breeders..too many strains. It's become a big business like any other.
The only reason breeders came in to existence, was to make land race strains easier to adapt to indoor growing. The best cannabis in the world has always been land race Sativa's..But they are difficult to grow indoors and take for ever. Breeding started by crossing indica's to thise strains, in an effort to make the Sativa shorter, quicker, and less sensitive to growing conditions.
No one ever thought "gee, I should cross a Sativa to my indica to see if I can make it take longer, grow taller, and be more sensitive to nutrients"
Recently, in response to the medical movement, some breeders are now developing High cbd/cbn strains. That has value in the med cannabis culture. but that effort was in response to, not anticipation of.
Originally breeding had nothing to do with "flavors" or "Improving quality"...it had to do with stabilizing strains for indoor growing.
Now it's all about "tutti fruity bubble gum try me" marketing.

You still don't get it. The law would have NEVER passed if there weren't potheads pushing for it. No one would have the idea of medical marijuana if it weren't for the stoners of now and past trying to get it legalized one way or another. Best in the world have always been landrace sativas...lol.

You do have one point..I should have just said "land race strains" the best indicas are land race too. But breeders didn't really need to alter them. Their natural quicker growing cycle, large wide leaf structure (allowing for less intense light) and relative ability to grow in harsher conditions, make them the favorite of cash croppers everywhere..even today.
As far as stoners creating the idea of "medical" cannabis...please stop. It's been used since the begining of time for medical purposes...It's mentioned in the Bible as one of the ingredients in the mud Jesus rubbed on people to cure them. (not making this Religious..but the Bible has been around awhile)

And I've already acknowledged that they played a part....but it also took research to document the medicinal value, and the work of many advocates that are not stoners to get the bills written, on ballots, and voted through.

I don't want anyone to go to prison that is acting responsibly...so no that's not right at all.
The guy who got his card, signed up 5 patients, gives them 1oz per moth for thier plant count, then profiteers from the rest of the weight? Yup..he is manufacturing with intent to deliver. That isn't within our law as written..

Yup...grow room too. Last time I put them up, I was accused of pulling them off the internet. But here are some room pics for ya.
Notice the lighting. 2 600 watt hortilux hps, plus 6 100 watt led's..1800 watts over 6 plant in flower...damn Sativa's are light hungry girls. 6 26 watt uvb fixture for the final couple weeks to help develop that thcv I'm looking for. Air conditioned, heated, and completely temp controlled both day and night. Humidifier and dehumidifier, with controller..no issues there. Co2 in place (1200ppm seems to work best) Organic, in soil (mix myself) water only grow, well I do sometimes give them a little treat, but no chemical anything.
