I've heard that a kiln dry = like they do good lumber... will really reduce moisture... down to like 5 or 6% but the smoke tastes like green-treated pine 2x4's... to each his own.

your making it seem like you chop your buds and stick them in jars......they obviously need to dry a little first man....not trying to be a dick
to op. you want a fan in the room moving air around....just not directly on them. check out the harvest and cure section

like the other guy said your going to want air circulation, just not a fucking wind tunnel on the buds. keep a fan going in the room but face it away from the plant, no air movement is a open invite for mold. i dont know why air curing would make it lose potency but you want to hang them to dry untill the outside feels a bit crisp and the inside is still wet, then jar them and keep about 50% humidity in the jars, if it goes above then burp untill it drops back down.

i dont know much about curing so like the other dude said check out the harvesting and curing section, lots of good reads there.

ok sorry no need to be bitchy i did correct myself so get off my back, plus im not the 1 thinking he is stupid enough to smoke wet weed, every1 knows it needs to be dry

it will lost its taste and smell if he dries it too quick, it will smell/taste like chlorophyll, the moisture you leave in it flavours it in the cure, do you want him to have crappy tasting weed or something?
