Curious why you are growing veggies instead of more cannabis??? do you just not smoke too much or am I missing something?
I'm mostly a weekend smoker truth to be told.. but I love growing this stuff.. I occasionally smoke during the week but usually a bowl or two and nothing too serious. I might smoke a gram a week.

Also I didn't want to kill my clone.. from my last run I took 3-5 clones but only this bitch survived... couldn't bring myself to kill her.

So I figured might as well grow some veggies in the meantime. Once this is done in 8-10 weeks I will be doing a 6-8 plant run with Querkle and Ak47 x Blockhead seeds that i have.

Should be way more exciting..

Appreciate you sticking around in the meantime...

I'll also do a RDWC vs my organic soil.. although I don't think it will be fair to the RDWC because I'm too lazy to keep checking pH (I don't have pen only a test kit) etc etc. So my bias is already heavily on the soil

Cow peas, collard greens, mustard greens, chard, broccoli, jalapeno, bell peppers, cantaloupe, tomato, green onion, butternut squash, zucchini, cucumber, radish, and snap peas.

I ended starting all of those waaaayyyy too early that year and grew quite a bit out in my tent while it was snowing outside. Live and learn :)

Here you can't put anything in the ground until about mid May..

I'll start quite a few of my plants for outdoors, inside in about 3-4 weeks to give them a 3-4 week headstart... digging up the garden this after noon though..

It's actually 26 degrees today!! ... don't know what that is in Farenheit.. maybe 78?

Don't know if anyone is still subscribed to this.. but if you are.. maybe you can help....

I went down this evening to check on the plants. Light was out. I unplugged my lumatek 400w digital ballast and then plugged it in.. the bulb fired up for a second or two and then turned off.. I switched bulbs and the same thing happened?

Any ideas? Is my ballast toast?

My digital ballast will not start if it's too hot. If it is on and goes off and I try to turn it on too quick it won't. You have to wait for it to cool. If that ain't working then sounds like your ballast is toast to me if two bulbs don't work in it.

Hey nice to know that you guys are still subbed in.. too busy to do any decent updates

I don't think its the cooling down issue as I unplugged it for a while. I really don't want to buy a new ballast.. eh bummer

I have a little magnetic 250w with a cmh bulb.. I got that running now... man is it ever dull after the 400.. maybe I'll have to buy a 600w!

Bad news for me but maybe good news for the journal.. I just found out a good friend of mine is going through chemo and will need lots of medicine and I've decided to grow for her..

I'll be popping 5-8 seeds in the next couple of week and will start updating again..

Cheers

I bought it second hand off of kijiji :( it's worked great for 6 months and I only paid $150 for the ballast, 4 bulbs and my AC hood.

Apparently I can take off the little white button and there is a fuse in there.. hoping that has blown and I can just replace it? We shall see.

I inoculated the seed on the right with myco and germinated in Rockwool cubes... I just transplanted to some mushroom compost and adding some more myco to the root zone when transplanting.

I also popped 4 more ak47 x blockhead seeds... I'll update with those as they crack and start to grow.

You still planning a rdwc grow? I've finally dropped my Sour Diesel clones into their rdwc flooded tube home for my 2nd run on it with some revisions. I think I posted a pic of the last grow a while back. This time I'm only doing 2 plants where the last time I started with 7 (ended with 5 since the re-vegged clones got crowded out and I think I got 1 gram off the one that lived lol.) Also will be adding a screen about 10" off the ground for more tops and keeping them shorter since the room only allows for 3 foot growth. These sour d's I have in there right now are probably the healthiest plants I've grown so far. The stems are almost pinky size and won't be flipped for another 2 weeks. All I use for ph and ppm meters are the cheap $10 pens you can get off e-bay. They work fine, just keep some distilled water handy to rinse them off once in a while. Using lucas formula with general hydroponics nutes and RO water, the ph is pretty much always where I want it.

Keep pictures flowing of your myco vs non-myco stuff. My soil grows are not hitting their full potential, trying to figure out what I can do to get a more healthy root system on those. Haven't really noticed much difference using no shock, microbe brew or superthrive. Will be running an actual solo cup test with those one of these days to see if there's actually a noticeable difference in the roots vs using nothing. I also have been mixing in some mushroom compost into my soil to see if it helps.

Yeah I did an RDWC run with lettuces... taught me a lot.. I'm too lazy to keep monitoring it daily... I figure my way is the organic soil.. just waterings with water and maybe the occassional molasses added in.

My lettuces got slimy roots at the end that smelled really bad and just with my low basement its a pain in the ass to do too much of anything frankly.

The RDWC was pretty easy.. but I think I would just do a DWC run next time if I did hydro again (Have all the equipment obviously!) I found keeping the resevoir temperature down a pain in the ass though... if I could get that under control (by changing ice packs more often) maybe I'd consider doing it again.

So the only experiment here is myco vs non-myco... and its only got two samples.

But good memory Drampire!! Nice to know people are still reading this.

I've been busy with work and killed about 8 seedlings.. went away for 4 days and dried them all out to snot.. that was about 1 month ago.. took the one viable Querkle plant and shoved it outdoors in my veggie garden...

Here she (hopefully female) is:

I took this shot 2-3 days ago and we've since had temperatures in the high 20's and low 30's and I've seen some explosive growth

Damn that shot isn't too clear... I'll try some others today.. we've got overcast and rainy here should take a better shot...

My lonely little Querkle ... pretty small compared to all these outdoor growers in California.. I don't know how she compares to other Ontario growers.. I've had her out since about the 20th of May or so...
