the right seems to be a contradictory blend of the two nowadays. can you imagine a boxing match between them?

jesus comes out swinging! a hard left from jesus! oh, and another, and another. rand is on the ropes. and rand comes back with a hard right! jesus turns the other cheek and gets another hard right from rand!

so, are you your brother's keeper, or is it every man for himself?

no, i'm just sitting here, trimming, bored, and wanted the people in my computer to fight for my amusement. jesus wasn't a socialist, but he certainly wasn't a republican in many ways.

so syncos, every man for himself, or are you your brother's keeper?

I'll answer your question like this: I think it is your moral responsibility to help others in need (be your brothers keeper, as you say), but before you get any bright ideas it isn't a societies right to force you to be of good moral character.

Why the constant mention of Ayn Rand on liberal talk radio today?

Imagine you're black and you just got your ass beat by the Presbyterian KKK. Now you find out the Missouri Synod Lutheran KKK hates the KKK you just got beat up by. You go to the Luthern KKK guy who beat up the guy you got beat, but worse. Think he'll be on your side?

help everyone you can, you get one life why spend it in seclusion without communicating with your fellow species. we are a herd animal, not lone wolves. we cannot survive without the pack, our minds need to know there's other being out there or you'll eventually go insane. watch any movie, like in I am Legend he eventually goes crazy until finding another human. or that episode of the twilight zone where that guy wishes he was the only man alive. we live to give back to our species, a life not contributed to helping the human race is a life wasted, leave your foot print and make yourself significant for the future. going to church and looking for a life after this is like saying "fuck it, ill pray in this life and have everything in heaven". this ideology doesnt work out so well when your on your death bed and realize theres probability of no after life, and all those years spent giving 10% of your salary to the loony bin called a church were years wasted. contribute to your race, religion is a way out, a short cut and an excuse to not ask questions and dedicate your life to self destruction and you are left with no purpose. humans need each other, any way you put it. its never "every man for himself", we all need other people in one way or another.

People are individuals, some people may like ayn rand, others might be jesus fanatics. Its kind of useless to take two entirely different facets of the republican party and taking those characteristics from two and applying it to the larger group.

It would be like saying all Democrats are food stamp scamming elitists, just because you have a part that abuses social programs and another portion that think everyone's too stupid to think for themselves doesn't mean you can apply that to everyone in the group.

She is my hero. Atlas shrugged was about some girl who came to the conclusion she was entitled to everything because her grandfather left her a company. Ayn Rand ended up on social security and medicare was an illegal immigrant and a whore.
