View attachment 2078303 so i have two plants.ones a bit bigger then the other.i have 1 23w cfl on and 1 14w cfl.i just bought 2 23w cfl lights and found another 13w cfl bulb. Should i use all of them in my grow box?do you think it will get too hot?any advice needed

you want about 100 true watts per plant... you have about 96 watts with all of those bulbs, USE THEM!!! will it get hot in your box??? maybe... cfls do generate heat I don't care what ppl say. I noticed that you party cup doesn't have drainage holes on the bottom, cut some out you risk over watering your plant, in fact both plants look puffy and clawed, signs of overwatering... wait till your pots are light as air then water... good luck, Stay high

alrite thanks.well i put some little holes on the bottom of the cup. and i water about every 2 days.and when i do i put a lot of water.about 2 cups maybe in the big one.and about half a cup in the little one.

when you water it's ok to add a lot of water, the problem is watering too often... you might be watering too often. I can't see how your watering every 2 days right now, later you'll be watering them that often but I think they are too small right now to e consuming that much water, what are your temps and humidity like? can't be that bad with so little lighting. stay high

temps and humidity are fine... could be a little warmer... in the 70's. Less water when you lift that solo cup it should feel empty, same with your other pot... the idea is to get the roots to stretch into the soil and search for water it'll help the root system. if you over water you can rot your root system. that would be bad. stay high

Do you have a ph meter? Stick it in the soil overnight to get an accurate reading. Keep your ph at about 6.8. A little lime goes a long way and your slightlyndeformed leaves may need something or less of something. They don't look completely normal however I like the look of the new growth and ima bet you'll end up ok. If you decide to add the lime use it at 1 tbsp/gal water mix well and drench each plant.

definitely get all the light in there. I am growing with CFLs and they do not generate very much heat. the fan should help as long as there is a vent for the air so that it keeps circulating. since you have two plants I would get about 3-4 23watt 6500k (daylight) bulbs per plant.

alrite thanks,the leaves are more moisturized than all crispy now and the plants are growing a little more since i put more bulbs in and changed to watering every 2 days

i am growing also with cfl 's , is it bad if i use more then 100 watts per plant (because i really do use way more then 100!!!) i used to think more light is better until i read ure post so i am a little confused now

your good Joe... you want at least 100 watts per... if you have more that is fine... I had 4 girls going with about 800 watts... sorry for the confusion... stay high, unless it confuses you... then stay really high!!! like me :)

edit: although there is such a thing as too much light, that's usually a problem when your grow is first starting. stay high

your right more watts is better. he was saying the op should use atleast 100 watts per plant.
