Three weeks 12/12 no flowers!!!! Naniiiii?!?!?!

Hey RUI, can anyone suggest wth is wrong here? I have had three plants in 12/12 under 400+ watts of cfls 2700k for the past three weeks. In the morning I take them out of the closet and put them in the window to get about 3/4 hours of real sunlight. and Its the spring sun, so its should be good for flowering no? every other plant outside is beginning to bloom.
As of yet they are still not even showing signs of gender. No signs of sex, no signs of flowering. They are growing in my closet and there are absolutely NO LIGHT LEAKS. I have even dropped to 10/14 for the past week and still no dice. I have only eight weeks left to move from my apt. and i cant take them with me. what could I be doing wrong???
is the size of my pot(3 gallons) causing the plant and root system to try to grow as big as possible before flowering? I feel like maybe I should have used 1 gallon pots so that the roots would get bound quickly and flower. Its an organic soil grow, but I have been adding fox farms big bloom, and have just recently began to add tiger bloom out of desperation. I have grow several vegatables in my garden when I was younger, but this is really baffling me. Shouldnt they have flowered by now? DOnt they look mature enough to you guys?

I just want to add that the stems have recently stopped smelling like grass/leaves, and have begun to take on a more skunky sweet smell. Does this mean anything at all? I know one of my seedlings has smelled dank since day 1, and even it has not show any sign of sex.

From what I can see of you lighting, they'll start flowering more noticeably soon enough. Also you said you were moving them into the window during the day so maybe that might be hindering the process due to changing conditions on such a frequent basis....Im no expert its just a thought.

how would it hinder them? the sun would help a crapton no? I doubt the plants notice anychange when i move them a couple feet from my closet to the window, but can you elaborate please?

I'm no expert but those look like Sativa dominant leaves, longer flower times. Maybe it's just a slow going strain if they are all the same. You could use so much more light, better light, but if your closet is say only 3'x2'x6' high 300watts is, is still to little. I've only have one successful harvest under my own belt and my hybrid mostly indica dominant strains didn't show flowering until day 20 or so under 1000+ watts for 5 plants. Patience I guess, but more light is always good. As for moving to the window for sun I don't see how that would hurt, only issue is if the window area is a safe environment. Pests, bugs, mold ect? What soil? When did u begin nutes? Did you follow the FoxFarm nute chart to some degree? No Open Seasame, ChaChin or BeastieBoy nutes which are Foxfarms flowering add ins? If they are sativas and it's already been 3 weeks and you need to move in 8 weeks that cutting it close. Because sativias usually take 9-11 weeks, a good week to dry and of course cure time which is 2-3 weeks but that can be transported in glass mason jars. You'll be cutting it close so hopefully the flowering begins soon.

Im not saying the sun is inhibiting them, but when they are put back under a much weaker light source as opposed to the sun.

wow you guessed the dimensions of my closet, are you a fed? jk. but thank you very much , i'm actually at 425 watts of cfl. 345 watts of that is at 2500k, the other at 5500k.
I dont mind curing and drying later, I can always move them. And I have used fox farms trio according to the charts, but a bit more sparingly than suggested since my soil would have had nutrients in it to begin with already.

could you link to any scietific or horticultural studies report as proof of this? It realy just sounds like more broscience to me. If an extended period of dark would force flowering, wouldn't there be loads of studies proving it for several fruiting plants? (eg. tomatoes, okra, peppers, etc) I mean I want to believe that its true, but that is a lot of hours of light to lose if it turns out to be just unsubstantiated information

Those preflowers are most certainly female, and with only having those few little CFL's, you can't expect them to just hop into flowering without the "normal" engulfing lumen array that H.I.D.'s supply to plants... When you run slack on any of the top factors, like light, water, CO2, nutes, it shows, and in your case, it's showing it's deficiency in the fact that there are only the beginning preflowers and possibly sum mild formation of bud tops on the terminal ends of your branch tips... But, I realize everyone has to start from somewhere, and work their way up the ladder... So, itz just gonna be a long, tedious, and sometimes not-so-satisfying journey to get there... But, other than that, it looks as though they are healthy, and not lacking in any other way, other than the lack of necessary lumens and spectrum wavelengths... If getting a new HPS light kit of any wattage,(in your confines, a 150W, or even a 100W HPS would suffice) is out of the question, I would strongly urge u to set up an easy to put together and maintain CO2 generator... All you need is a 1-gallon milk jug, filled almost halfway up with water, 1 lb of sugar, and three or four packets of active dry yeast, and that will give them plenty of CO2 and might well spur on sum flowering, as well... It definately wouldn't hurt your predicament... Only catch with the system I described is you haveta "reload it" every four days, but it's really inexpensive to do, and the results are nothing shy of phenominal... And please leave the cap OFF, or you will be most unpleased with the results that would follow...

Thank you very much for the reply, I have been lazying about the co2, but i will do that asap. Could you please specify which of the plants are showing female preflowers? I have pics from two different plants.

I didn't see any 'naner or male preflowers in any of your pics... But to specify, the second or third pic I think, has a perfect, textbook female preflower on it, the teardrop shaped calyx with the notorious "V' of tiny white pistols poking out of the top- Thatz what you wanna see, and unless you're breeding, thatz all you wanna see... And you will shit when u see the results u get from added CO2... Best of luck!

Most people think by putting ur plants into flowering prefore u see preflowers makes them grow preflowers...in fact u neeed to wait for the plant to show an early preflower before u can flower....and if u put it into flower it doesnt speed up the process u just loose some important veggie time..u have preflowers now so within two weeks u should see buds....i just think u put it into flowering to early...for example this is my plant right now 2 and half weeks into flowering

two 65 watt cfl lights, and i just got a third one yesterday right when i took these pics...i just waited till i saw my plant pre flower before i put it into flowering

juss remember u want more lumens when flowering... i dont know how much one 65w produces maby somewhere around 3000 lumens...but a 125w feliz cfl emits 8000 lumens... budding will go alot better with around 75 to 100 watts per plant and and 5000 to 10000 lumens perplant... granted ur water food co2 and light intensity are correct

if ur using cfl and ur trying to flower ur plants its not just about the lumens I hope u know but also about the light spectrum the bulbs produce too, like for veg stage u need the 5000k-6500k which is more blue/green light spectrum if i remember correctly, and for flowering u want the cfls that are around 2700-3500k which is more of a yellow/red light spectrum
