357 magnum plus led with a 600 watt hps cooltube SCROG

HEY WHAT UP

im doing a scrog with the best of two worlds (or at least i like to think)

if you are into the led or getting into it. make sure you ask your self these questions.
wheres the product made?
who makes it?
what kind of advertising does the led company do to sell there product?
is their product patent? (huge plus in my opinion)
What kind of Diodes are being used?
who makes the diodes?
does the company that make the diodes back up the led company?

after awnsering these questions, i found myself purchasing a 357 MAGNUM PLUS. I like this company because they know what they are talking about, they arnt so aggressive in terms of marketing, plus they do most of their marketing through word of mouth, their product is patent, and the diodes are backed up by proven Lighting companies.

before i get into my grow, i would like tooo say that this is going to be a ongoing documentaion with my current grow and for the grand finally i will document my next grow with not one BUT TWO MAGNUM PLUS!!!!!!!!!

so lets get into my current grow(and yes this is late in flowering)

(1)600 watt hps cooltube 6 inch
(2) 4 inch inline fans
(1) carbon filter
(1) Hepa Air intake filter
(2) oscilating fans
(2) cfm fans
(1)dr 120 grow tent 4x4x7
(4) 5 gallon smart pots
(3) Trainwreck OGS
(1) SFV og 18
SCROG
6 WEEK VEG
Happyfrog soil
All organics tea feeding
general organics, vital landscaping organics, earth juice, guanos, alfalfa meal,
bone meal, wormcasting, cal mag (a most for led growers) Myhroizzal fungi

I would like to say that i am not shooting for quanity over quality in this grow, these strains im growing are picky (10 WEEK)sativas that are crossed with even pickier OGS, this is my 2nd round with these trainwrecks OGS and my first with the sfv 18.
heres a lay out on my set up, let me know what yall think, im very open to any sugestions or thoughts.



Im using fresh cool filtered air from my window to act as a AIR CONDITONER and to supply fresh co2. i run my lights on at night time to avoid heat issues and also to warm up my room and keep me and my loving and supporting girlfriend warm

notice how the plants lean towards the led, and also depending on how i take the picture, the led seems to have a slightly bigger foot print, however it looks smaller when i take a picture becuse the led has more plant to cover on this side of the scrog, so it gives the illusion as if the hps side has a bigger foot print,.... did that make sense? im high, or not high enough

she was slow in vegging, she didnt keep up with the trainwrecks, but she eventually filled in the screen with a little help.
although she was slow vegging, she makes up in flowering!

looks to me like they are ripening faster on the hps side, you really might be better off if you could set the hps in the middle. I don't think you are wasting any energy but you would have to- use a cheap 4 in 1 tester from a nursey or a light meter, measure the light at leaf level where the plants are on each side , to find out. the light from hps seems to penetrate into lower branches well.
how come the leaves were wet ? I don't spray anything on ripening buds so I wonder why when I see it, whats the reason , is it neem oil?
Those are fat plants though nice work. light deficiency isn't a problem at least.
Its a side by side comparison where it looks like about the same distance from each light to the plants. I havent tried the expensive leds with all the hype but I am curious , that looks like old skool lite-brite but is the led 357 watts?

i agree on moving the light in the middle, but it would get too hot for the mag plus and that can cause problems with the led,
and the mag plus is great in penetration, i wouldnt say as much as the cooltube, but reguardless the mag plus has very strong penatration compared to a lot of diffrent led lights i used. ill post some pics sometime laters

and yea the leaves are wet because for some reason we have been having wet weather and because i have other projects going on, i have high humidity levels, so i spray green cure fungicide on them for mildew problems, i kno its risky but its better then mildew on my buds

yea the led is a 357 Magnum plus, it has 357 watts but rivals 1000 hps watts, ive seen bad ass grows with them that blew my mind, but never under my belt, my next grow im shooting for quanity as well as quality, this grow im just shooting for quality, these sativas are real picky

alright so heres week 6-7 sorry about the lag on putting up the pics and keeping yall posted, im close to harvest and i cant wait to get two magnum plus lights going.


ok notice how the plants are heavier under the mag plus, very frosty nugs, the trainwreck og has that original trainwreck skunk mixed with a kushy skunk smell when touched but she has that OG look to it, smaller rock hard nugs along with some big spears,
the SFV og is just amazing in everyway, at first i was a little sketchy because her lack of progress in vegging, but she really pops out when she flowers, IN EVERYWAY POSSIBLE.
OG KUSH SMELL WITH A TOUCH OF SWEETNESS WHEN TOUCHED, DANK!

the distance between canopy and light is about 6 inch, i strated around 12 inch and worked my way down, i think if i really wanted i could get it down a couple more inch but dont want to risk it.
i have 4 plants total, 3 trainwreck og and 1 sfv og 18

yea ur right,to tell u the truth i dont even kno what the suggested height should be? lol
i think it really depends on the strain?
i think the sfv og got a slight little burn about 4 weeks back, but nothing bad and it seemed to get passed it, trainwrecks are holding off fine,
i hope i dont have them soo close that the tri can get burnt or something? now im paranoid, im going to raise them just in case...
but ive been checking with the microscope and everything seems up to par

i think that the mag plus is capable of producing comaparable results with the 1000 watt. i was thinking of putting up another tent with my current 600 cooltube and a old school 400 watt, thats a 1000 watts, maybe i can compare it too my 2 mag plus? just a idea. i do have enought of the same strains to do it(blackwater and fire og)./...

wen i had i at 20 inchs away my bottom buds on plants out grew my canopy. id say unless u spot canopy growth freezing n not swelling compaired to the bottom buds then stick to wot u doing. u right also strains some do demand more light.
hung at 30 inchs the light struggles to match the 4 ft footprint its advertised, dont get me wrong i love my light im no hater at all.
i wood thought 1000w hps would grow 6- 8 good sized girlies all with 4 oz plus on them. led 357 i think 4 wood b max amount but i could b wrong. think four my lilmit but maybe as i get used to light more i may b able get more out off it.
i got a blue cheeses seeding up on last week, after that am in dam in mid march then i will b growing some dog s1 from breeders boutique. they have some amazing strains n good prices. also run by some riu members. remember the name dog s1 it ment b the nexxt big thing. u can order bb stock on sea seeds if u wanted to have a scope at them

how much was your yield? I just bought 6 magnum plus lights. Going to test them out this time around. I don't have much faith in them so I will run 2 side by side to try and keep up with my hps lights and hope I do well

Hey, I am in CA and am starting my grow. I am still debating btw 1000w HPS or 357Mag Plus. Could you repost your yield results? I want to do both quality and quantity. I think your grow looked pretty good. Your thoughts on quality and quantity per plant would be good info. Thanks!
