Topping the day before flowering?

i prefer to give my ladies a few days stability/rest (still vegging) after topping. Just personal preference in my case though.

no dont do it, u will yield less and it will take alittle longer to flower caz it has to heal itself, can i ask why u want to top it?

i top prior to flowering to redistribute auxins to the lower branches, thereby (in my belief) slightly fattening/increasing the lower buds.

i believe i got that info from BrickTop a year or so ago.

I would say dont do it. I also like to let the heal. BUT. Bud lover raises a good theory that I am going to give a whirl. And if it came from brick op then its a fact jack.

Pretty sure that's where my first intro to auxins came from. But pretty sure he said to let the lady recover a little too.

i have topped with varying success across varying strains but am by NO means a master grower. Been growing about 18 months now. Might have something to do with strain too. Going to be testing this with one strain, my favorite that is available to me. Snowcap.

Lower buds as in all of them below your dominant cola(s).

1 big cola and a bunch of popcorn or many medium colas.

I don't think one day is going to make too big of a difference for bud growth and auxin distribution. If you have a cola and your preferred quantity of amber trichomes have formed then go ahead and cut it as it becomes ready for more uniform quality control in your end product.

Lol, I'd try it on a smaller branch for starter if it doesn't drop the yield or increases it let us know?
