Both have a learning curve.

Chems would probably be easiest to start, just keep it simple.

Get a grow or 2 under your belt before you start over thinking it.

I started out with organics, organics can be simple to! Like Wetdog said get a few grows under your belt before worrying to much but if your just wanting to get started and grow just find you some organic dirt, even the Miracle Grow Organic Dirt from Walmart would be ok, And you can use blood and bone meal -or- you can get the Bat guano which in my opinion tastes better!!! Get both kinds if you can help it but really you only need the flowering guano,As for nitrogen there are a bunch of options that are organic, Since your just getting into it even a bottle of miracle grow-organic choice from walmart would work great for you, this is what I started with and had no problems.I wouldnt worry to much about all the soil additives right now all a plant truly needs to grow and produce something pretty decently dank is dirt, water, air, nitrogen and some bloom nutes if you wanna get crazy lol. But for your first grow man a place like Walmart has about everything you would need and Organic to! I would highley suggest getting both kinds of bat guano from a dro shop cause you wouldnt be disappointed, but adding nitro to your dirt can be dangerous starting out if you get in there slinging dirt without knowing exactually how strong it is. Atleast with the liquid nitro like I mentioned you will get a feel for how plants use it. But dont be afraid of Organics man there the way to go! Everyone has an opinion on that but the way I see it, Id rather have clean herb them chemicaly grown anyday...just my 2cents.
But theres a million and ! ways to grow man, just jump in and find what you like. But to get started just roll with the basics man.
Stay stoned and hope I was of any help.

If you are growing for the most bud you can get, go chemicals. If you are growing because you want the highest quantity bud possible, go organic. If you're growing for yourself, go organic - you can easily yield enough for yourself. Just my personal opinion. I will never, ever grow anything but organic for taste and not wanting to be smoking chemicals. I'm sure I injest enough chemicals through the environment and normal daily living without pumping them into my body. Once you go organic you won't go back.

Make sure u do your reasearch... If u go organics.. ( I would ) There's lots of products on the market. Remember.. Keep it simple at first.. I would even suggest Subcools super soil.. Just mix n water. Simple... and you'll get wonderfull results.

Don't waste your time sucking chemicals, checking pH levels, water levels, eC levels, etc.

Grow organically.

Plant, water, harvest, smoke.

So simple even a fool like me can do it.

Organics is the way....Get worm castings for the spout, i also love using neptunes seaweed for the spout...make a tea from worm casting and the seaweed, then one month in use some guano....within 2 months ull have a bush inside ur house

Yeah worm castings kick ass. I know it dont take a genius to make a tea but were tryin keep it strait foward.id mix the guano in the dirt for now, then when he gets experimental he can move up to the tea's. Just to keep from getting confused.

I started on chems and wish I never would have. Save yourself some time and start with organic. Chems are only good in a hydro or soilless medium and even then the taste does is not the same.
With chems the green hit always tastes good but halfway through the bowl it starts gettin a little harsh. Organic tastes good all the way through.

Its not true what they say about chems having a higher yield either. I yield more with organic than I ever did on salt base.

In summary, Organic is the way to go buddy.

Check into subcool's super soil recipe. It sounds like what you're looking for. You just mix the soil, let it sit for a month+ then it's ready you just water with plain water no teas or feedings necessary. For the guanos and amendments in the soil to be most effective they need to sit in the soil for a while to break down and become available to the plant. You will still get a benefit from them being in the soil before but not as much. For seedlings and newly rooting clones, wormcastings are the way to go - most guanos and other amendments are too strong and will burn. Wormcastings will supply pretty much everything a seedling needs the first few weeks.

Yeah Organic tastes Amazing! But I dunno man with the right chem combinations you cant get some outstanding numbers,But then again I guess thats true with anything,I would never go chem though. only Chem I own is the genetics lmao. And yeah Senseimilla EVERYONE injests quite enough chemicals on the daily bases from everyday foods and what not,no need to add them into your fine ass herbs lol.

Yeah I second the Supersoil idea, but I know my first run I would have been lost trying to get all that togather lol.And yeah the Guanos are strong but used right they kick ass! I just started using worm casting not long ago and im loving them so far, I can tell a good differance in my plant growth!

Organics is the only way I would ever grow. Started with Earth Juice, Switched a few times, back to EJ atm. But going to teas as soon as this EJ runs out.

Only thing close to chem ferts I would use is Soul Synthetics. Uses both chem and organic.

For sure - I saw a thing on the news today just talking about how much BPA you get in your system solely from eating food from a can. If you smoke you're already putting smoke in your lungs -- the great thing is cannabis smoke actually FIGHTS lung tumors and probably brain tumors as well -- but who knows what else you're getting if you're not going organic.

You can get by without supersoil. When I last grew I basically used a watered down super soil that had some guanos and amendments in it but not as much as supersoil. I used regular organic nutes (pure blend, fox farm big bloom, etc) and got good results with that too. It is just going to be a bit harder than super soil because you're going to have to keep a bit more of an eye on your plant for deficiencies. Even if you're still using bottled nutes, I highly recommend feeding with a steeped organic tea that's been bubbling for a day or two every other feeding. You can pretty much use a gentle organic tea every time you water.

The problem you will almost certainly run into that I had is rapid yellowing of the fan leaves in flower due to not enough N. Some people don't see this as a problem, most organic growers do :) You'll need to supplement with some guano teas that have decent N in relationship to the P or fish emulsion.

God thats crazy man, yeah everytime you turn around anymore theres another study out about what else is killing you on the daily lol.

Yeah I kinda use a watered down supersoil now, using liquid nitro when needed and earthjuice bloomnutes for sugars.Im pretty damn happy wih my results though,Yeah I cant brag about the biggest yields in the world but my pot is out of this world man,I wish I could smoke a bowl with you man!!! I grow fro quality thogh not yield, you grow enough of it you dont worry about that shit lol! I like my plants to yellow out the last few weeks of flower to ensure all the nutes and what not are flushed out of it. Makes for a smooth burning nice clean white ash bowl and a sweet ass taste from everything, the flavor really comes through when you slack the nutes off. So when dude finaly gets his setup going I would read into that more forsure! But keep it real Senseimilla your a cool dude, stay oragnicaly stoned and keep up the grows!

Well my first grow I used this exactly, 150mh with 4' 42w cfl bulbs hanging around for extra side lighting and coverage in a 2x3x5 cabinet. I went to Walmart and got the MiracleGrow "Organic Choice" soil. A friend gave me a bag of BoneMeal and Bloodmeal, dont know brand just organic.....lol. I got the orange bottle of MiracleGrow Organic Choice liquid nitrogen and a jar of Molasses from the food section lol.I ran this set up a good 2...maybe 3 rounds and moved up to a 400hps then 1round in that I added 1 more 400 lol. Thats plenty for my personal smoke as of now.Im gettin some killer potency and resin coverage so its workin out fine. But That is what I started with and I great result. Even for the lower light the buds where pretty strong and looked as good as any other nugs you would run into on the street. But thats just shows you that you dont have to invest a mad amount of money or really even exstensive knowledge. If you have a basic idea how these simple nutes work then you can get it on like donkey kong!!! but even if you dont get into the soil additives right off the bat you still would not be dissapointed. Oh YEAH and I have to admit to buying the REGULAR Miracle Grow Perlite...not organic but...lol it worked out pretty good though...
