Do you think F.T.A. stands for Fun, Travel and Adventure?

NO - It stands for Fuck The Army ...

Fishy, you don't want to be the small fish in a dirty pond.

If you want to go into the military, go to school so you can go in as an Officer. :joint::peace:

The brig is the jail lol trust me u dont wanna go there. Once u goto the brig ur contract is pretty much put on hold till ur done with ur sentence and then if ur able to go back to ur unit ur contract will b "active" again. If u cant go back to ur unit they usually put u n a unit that will eventually process u out on there own time (u might b there a while). Being yelled at isnt just a bootcamp/ brig thing hahahahaha well at least in the Marine Corps. Some of the most epic ass chewings iv ever seen was while i was n the fleet. Ppl get put on blast all the fuckin time. Drug pops, brig time, NJPs and all that will adversly affect ur record. Trust me u want an honerable discharge. If u get out with an honerable, or general under honerable ur ok but anything else will cause u to lose jobs and shit. Dishonerable discharge is a real mother fucker. Basically if u pop for weed or something and they kick u out and give u a dishonerable u CAN NOT have ANY GOVERNMENT RELATED JOB and thats a whole lot of jobs that u wouldnt even think would b n that catagory. Easiest way out is to just finish out ur contract and get on with life. Lol ull meet a lot of cool ppl lke u want. Alot of my best friends i met n the military and i still talk to them all the time. Ull defintly meet alot of good people. And alot of assholes to but theres assholes everywhere n life lol and YES ASK ALOT OF QUESTIONS!!! Theres nothing wrong with it. Ppl might get annoyed yeah but guess what they can do anything till ur n and even then id still rather get blasted for asking questions than not and fucking something up and really get a new asshole torn open lol. Ull learn what and when to ask and when to keep ur mouth shut lol. Its confusing at first but once ur past ur first uear n it gets easier.

If you want to be a lifer dog :dunce:

1) You can go to a West Point, Citidel or another Army College.

2) You can go to a college that has R.O.T.C. and you will be commisioned after graduation.

3) Just get a college degree and take you chances and see if they want you in Officer Training.

The best bet is to forget about going into the military :joint::peace:

Yeah,

Screw all this bureaucracy. Just for a couple checks, and a legal gun in the foreign place.
I'd rather just travel :D

If these are your only reasons, its just as well you don't join. Without commitment you wouldn't make it with those as your priorities.

If you go into the military, and have them pay for college.
Do you have to serve before they pay, or after they pay, or can that time in school be your service?

How does that work?

Fin, your temperment and attitude and life views would screw you over in the military.
Dont do it.
Im not saying this because I dont like you, Im trying to save you from a dishonorable discharge, you know that many many people will not hire someone with that on their record

I'm not dogging you my friend - just the reality of it is, a paycheck is not motivation enough for most (or anyone I knew) to do some of the God awfull crap we had to do.
And I'm telling you, I've had to go through some bullshit for free, to stay alive. Or because a judge said so.
And I can handle a boot camp

Whatever Urca.

I again, for the umpteenth time (I feel like an old man saying that)
I don't care what you have to say, after the things you have said already :D
And the situations you put yourself in, then cry to us about, then won't get yourself out of when told how :D

If you have a girlfriend or wife, I would also take in to consideration the notoriously high divorce rates within the military. Long deployments, low pay and constant movement to new locations take an extreme toll on relationships. When hubby is gone you would be surprised at the number of women that start weighing their options. Having a weekend pass in Seoul or Bangkok has been the downfall of many a relationship.

Nah,
I'm just 20, and not tryin to get tied down just yet.

But that is a good point.
No females, or much opportunity to do anything with them when deployed...
