Not nessecarilly. If the convention is brokered no. Only needs 400 delegates. For non brokered yes he needs to win 5 sstates

okay let's assume he wins the nomination... What's his electoral map supposed to look like? I'd imagine he would have to flip a couple blue states to make up for Florida, wouldn't he? Seems improbable at least, but I'm interested to hear how the Paul campaign has this planned out beyond the primaries. I mean, he wouldn't have a problem retaining most red states - if not all of them - but are 270 electoral college votes attainable?

What about the candidates who win the other 45 states? If someone wins 25 of them it's unlikely the guy who wins none is going to get the nomination.

There's a lot more than Foreign Policy at stake. RP is the most anti liberal candidate there is IMO. Any Liberal who has taken a GLANCE at his website should run the other way. I like RP, but he is batshit crazy and people need to stop supporting him JUST because he has SOME good ideas. That said, most of his "good" ideas are really blatant lies, he's not telling you his real motives.

Ron paul is better then obama on social/civil liberties and more liberal on foriegn polices. He also getts the yyoung and independant votes...imho he is the only one that has a chance in hell at beating obama. Any liberal who isn't a centrist or brainwashed would vote rp over obama if they know what it means to be a liberal

He is anti environmentalist. He wants to remove pollution laws and leave it up to tort law to decide outcomes, which is so astronomically naive it blows my mind.
He is pro corporations and anti oversight
He is anti choice and will overturn roe v wade. Even though he talks big game about state rights and limiting governments the hypocritical asshole wanted to introduce law at the Federal level to declare life at the start of conception! (Sanctity of Life Act)

That seems Liberal to you? There's a lot of things RP has going for him that none of the others do, but it doesn't counter his extreme mentality on many other issues.

I'm not sure Paul's policy is appealing to democrats either. It's very extreme. While we all would like to knock it off with all the wars, I don't think many people support cutting off all foreign aid to all countries.

You're missing a huge element of the equation. Ron Paul is a right wing extremist when it comes to economic issues. And for the average voter, that's the single most important issue. He's everything liberals hated about Reagan times 10000000.

I listen to liberal radio all the time (not trying to claim I know liberals), but when Ron Paul is mentioned they always say his foreign policy is spot on (especially Thomm) and many are pro marijuana legalization. Of course, that is always followed with the same response of Catchin22 with the "Batshit crazy domestic policy"

RP doesn't support marijuana legalization. What he supports is the medical use and the states right to decide. That means if the states decide illegal, it will remain that way without the feds saying otherwise. You can bet your ass most every red state will stay that way no matter how much the population supports the legalization.
And unlike conservatives, you can't sum up most liberals by listening to one talk radio show. Liberals often argue amongst each other and debate facts. Yes we agree on common things but we do not (again unlike republicans) simply repeat talking points like you guys do with shit heads like O'reilly, Rush Limbaugh and the Faux News Network. You all tend to sound the same, black and white thinkers.

I never did sum up liberals by one talk radio show. I listen to pretty much only liberal radio and actually listen to only Jason Lewis on fox radio (plus, I don't have TV, so I don't watch any of them).
For my being so conservative when it comes to many issues, yet basically only listen to left wing politics, I think that disproves your "black and white thinker" accusation.
