Northern Lights expectations

Hi all ive been growing this northern lights for about 5 weeks from seed the first 2 weeks were under fluorescents and since then under a 250w hps, i topped it at 3 weeks and it started preflowering a week ago if i was to change to 12/12 now does anyone have any idea what sort of size/yield to expect its approx 2' high now, any advice on what to expect is much appreciated as im pretty inexperienced.
Thanks in advance.

dont bank on that, i just play god in his absence. haha.. re- finishing time.. its hard to say, get a mag glass in about a month..most girls like 8weeks to finish blooming. imho..

p.s she looks good, well done.

I would say anywhere from 2-3 oz is a realistic figure to shoot for. Try to harvest for mostly cloudy/milky trichomes.

i really appreciate the advice and comments, after hiding her away for the last five weeks its nice to be able to get some feedback,
my local hydroponics store guy said that this hobby quickly turns into an obsession i fear he may be right.

I grow NL exclusively and I would say that 2 oz would be good for a first timer. A big plant under lots of light and everything else right might get 4-5 oz. I grow 6 plants under a 400w hps and keep the plants smallish. If I get 12 oz out of that I'm happy.

ps NL is a great strain. It is old stable genetics and is very forgiving for new growers.

thanks, really excited about flowering her, will think about upgrading lights to a 400w, does anyone know if there is much difference in heat output though because temps hover around 78 and i wouldnt really want to raise them anymore otherwise id have to increase the grow space.

When I dim my 400 to 250 I see a temp drop of 2-4 degrees other factors being equal. Why not get a 400 digital ballast dimmable to 250?

thats a good idea i didnt know you could do that, ill certainly look into i assume id just have to by the ballast and bulb but keep the light fitting/hood, thanks for the advice illegal smile

You could keep your 250 but it will dim a 400 bulb to 250. Mine is Lumatek. I veg with 250 MH bulb (which you can buy at Lowes), and flower with 400hps. But I sometimes dim it to 250 to deal with a temporary heat spike.
