Yea, I'm pretty disappointed, I don't know what happened to the chapter in my county. I tried to e-mail the "leader" early in the week and no response. I am going to still try to get in touch with a leader at a nearby county and see what I can find out about what's going on. I have been also checking out other advocacy groups.... I know last time I did volunteer with NORML I was pleasantly suprised with how well organized the group was... I just want to try to continue to raise awareness and get people who care involved. Really, I want to go full force and get some good stuff started with or without NORML. Any ideas are welcome! It's a little tough for me right now because I'm working two jobs but I'm trying to use my extra time to do as much research as possible.
People of Michigan we need to stand together! I remember how happy I was when the Medical Marijuana Initiative passed in Ferndale... and then still happier when it passed for Michigan. However, I feel the law is so fragile and I don't want to see the day when my Grandma becomes a criminal again because she smokes weed to help her with the pain of degenerative disc disease (she has a steel rod in her back with a mesh cage around her spine and takes no narcotics!). And it's not just that, IMO Marijuana needs to be decriminalized for personal use PERIOD!
Anyhow, once I get some info about anything valuable we can do I will start a new thread. Now at the risk of sounding so cheesy, I'm jut going to say it, knowledge is power and there are a lot of people out there that simply don't
know the benefits of medical marijuana use, and if we can help spread the knowledge we can help this law stick and turn into something better than it is now!
Ok, there's my positive energy I'm sending it out into the universe. Stay optimistic fellow Michiganders, we can do this!
