Help me choose the better light setup. then i can start.

Don't waste your money on a 150w, get at least a 250 which you can get for like an extra $40 over a 150, or a 400, and why would u grow only 1 plant? Grow at least 3, what if you have a male, or one get a deficiency and has problems? what if after 2 months of veg and 4 weeks of flower all of a sudden something goes wrong and you lose you one plant? Gotta grow at least 2 or 3

$90 for a 150, or $120, for 400 watts, i think you know what to do . . .

well after seeing lots of small successful cfl grows here i ended up going to lowes and getting 8 23 watt cfls. i got 4 6500k and 4 2700 k and im gonna run them all.

That'll get the job done, but if you want your plants to really pop, then get an HID light, at least for flower. I use a flouro for vegging plants and rooting my clones and then an HPS for flower. obviously you can flower with CFLs, but HID lighting will give you a much higher yield.

well after this first grow i may step up to a hid or led to get some more yield. wanna make sure it works before i pour much more into it lol.

well just went and set up all the cfls. found out i had a 65w 5500k huge cfl bulb so i replaced one with it.


so right now im running

(3) 23 watt 2700k cfls
(4) 23 watt 5000k cfl
(1) 65 watt 55000k cfl

so roughly 226 total watts. maybe that will give me a good yield.

my grow isnt exactly stealth just kinda in the corner of my closet. i need to find a way to trap light to the one side of the closet.
this is the first light the pots have seen. i germinated the seeds then threw them in some most soil been in the pot about 2 days. maybe with some light we will see some sprouts soon. its just bagseed this time.

you wanna make sure what works? That lights produce light or that plants actually grow? Why waste time, effort and money, get the HID light! You'll be thankful when you do.

It takes 4 months from seed to harvest at a minimum. But if you got the space and want to do it, then do it right! If your committing 4 months to something would you rather get a small amount for an experiment or would you rather have at least enough herb so you dont need to buy any for another 4 months until your next crop?
