as a student of Uncle Ben, I must say that the best thing is to learn as much as you can about basic plant biology and forget 97% of the "nutes" bullshit propagated on the internet and in magazines (i am told-magazines are so 1990). ALSO as a student (a PRO studed for 14 years of my earlier life, so don't think i can't "study") i've learned a little about plant biology medangsef.
first rule, KISS. second rule, DON'T FUKKING overdo it. LESS is MORE. Soil is the most forgiving medium. Outdoor soil even moreso, because it comes with perfect (and free) lighting, free water (you hope), and a free ventilation system. I've learned so much recently that my tomatoes will likely talk and wear cotton pants this year.
Finally, if that's all way over your head but you still _need_ to produce a little bit of bud, THEN get some slow-release stuff and use it at 1/2 to 3/4 the rate _YES LESS IS MORE_ prescribed on the side of the container. GET IT AT your local department or home improvement store and pay CASH, so you feel like you're really foolin' the man.
fuck i'm sober again...
What really cool about _THIS_ time of year is that you can go buy grow stuff and nobody looks at you funny-you're presumed to be getting ready to grow from seeds for the veggie garden. I "needed" some things back in November...drove a long ways baby, paid cash. i so sneaky.
screw sobriety where's my lighter.
another thing...personally, i'm going to get _real good_ with bagseed/myseed before (IF EVER) i spend a nickel on fancy pants mail-order or dispensary fodder.
