Has anyone kept up to date with knna's DIY led work?

Wanting to know what the most recent word is on wavelengths and ratios for 1 veg light and 1 flower light.

Been reading up after you mentioned him in another thread; the most recent info I can find is here and here:

"6) Red, 660 nm and Blue 460nm are the only wavelengths you need for optimal growing?

So far.

Weezard, Thank you so much for your interest. I told myself I would not use another UFO again and I’m just about ready to start a new grow, so could you also tell me what the best approach using LED’S seedlings is. I noticed I has some serious stretching that occurred when using the 90w ufo same spec has my current 120w Ufo tri-band red, 660nm,blue 455nm and orange 630nm with 7.1.1 ratio.

Best approach?
More blue!
7:1 will stretch them to death.
Your R:B for seedlings should be closer to 3:1.
More blue = tighter internodes.

Overall I’m content with my results but I know there is a lot more to uncover using Digital lighting. Thank you for your attention in this matter of mine

Then go to 5:1 for flowering and you'll be even more content."

Weezard really seems to know his shit, the second thread is pretty technical.

I love weezards pidgin. I haven't talked to him in a bit. He grows using 5w emitters in only those two wavelengths and has some impressive grows with it. I'm thinking I'll put far red and white in too though.

2 red, 1 far red, 1 white, 1 blue for veg

Then flower maybe
3,2,1,1 or 4,1,1,1

Hi there folks, a novice question here, I am about to get a soldering iron for soldering LEDs... 40w is ok? Or less/mre wattage? Thanks!

The LED's I use are r/g/b at 7/1/2, I had to add an actinic HID to tighten up the buds. Roughly 5/2/3 now per solarmeter 9.4 and 9.6 red and blue watt meters.
This is sativa, I just put in an indica. In the last budroom the indica liked more red, closer to the 7/1/2 the new LED's came with.

Simple answers just aren't fitting all the plants available.
