Would it flower faster

I had my plants on a 18/6 light cycle i changed it to 12/12 my plants started flowering,,, well want your opinions. Do you think changing the light cycle now to 6/6/6/6...( 6 on/6 off/6 on/6 off) will speed up the flowering process???...keep in mind im not worried about the overall yeild just want to speed things up a bit.

There was a guy that did this and chronicled it here or on another forum and it made his plants take longer, because in essence they were only getting 6 hours of light at a time. So as opposed to making it flower faster it made his grow take longer as I recall and he said getting the times right was quite a hassle. Maybe his went bad for other reasons...but I don't think I would do it personally. It is good thinking though, especially since plants don't wear watches or keep time necessarily...but they know what's up...so it is more like you are interrupting their light cycle...one thought I have had is this...is it getting a full 12 hours of dark that makes them flower, or is it only having 12 hours of light...I mean what if you left the lights on for 16 hours and then off for 12 would the plants still flower? Could growth benefit from longer lights on but with a lights off still of 12....? but again only if it is the darkness that triggers it, as opposed to the shortened light...Hmmm....Now I feel confused...I don't think we are likely to fool this plant...it has been here longer and I feel like it is probably smarter than us anyway...

Imo if you mess with the schedule you are just asking for your girls to hermie. I had a light timer go bad and I didn't check em for a few days, when I went to water I could see the balls starting, whole crop down the shitter.

because if you could speed up the days by addign shorter more frequent light cycles I would manually cut the lights on and off every hour so finish in 3 weeks...lol

well i have read somewhere that after six hours of darkness that the plant has stored all of the energy it can and is ready for photosynthesis again (ready for more sunlight).

is it an auto flower plant? they can have any light cycle.

photo period plants need 12 hrs of uninterrupted darkness to flower!

no its just some regular midgrade seeds i got out of some bags of weed i purchased,,,i took all the males out of the room and started LST and 12/12 the buds look so pretty and frosty right now... yay but im leaving on feb 4th to go to anouther state and i dont think they are anywhere near being ready so i just want to speed this shit up,i had to stop smoking for a job anyways wich is why im going out of state.

stick with 12/12 or you will run into problem...like some of these idiots trying to fuck up your grow!

Well im 23 years old and ive been growing for 6 years when i was 17 my grandpa took me in, he taught me a few things and the first was to spot bullshit and bullshiters! the second thing he always would say "sell a man a eighth, he will smoke for a day,,,teach a man to grow,and he will smoke for a lifetime."
