Did the LED Star thing. Bought a 60x5w panel (LED's are running at 4 watts) with my own choice of spectrum's and angle's. Should work well with my 2 BS 240's working as supplemental lighting. Anyone for some Panel Porn?

Build quality is good, same as my Blackstars basically. Bright ass mutha too. You can't look straight at it without almost instantly closing your eyes. Fans are quieter than my Blackstars' fans, which is surprising. Hope to have it running full time this weekend.

The link is in FranJan's post, the text "LED Star" in the first sentence is it. Just remember you might have to pay upwards of $80 shipping and dealing with a warranty (if their is one) through China...

Yeah sorry bout the link there, missed that.

Total price for panel with shipping (89.50!) and fees was roughly $360.00.

Spectrum's used:
4 UV LED in 380nm
16 Red LED in 625nm
16 Red LED in 660nm
4 Deep Red LED 730nm
5 Blue LED in 430nm
5 Blue LED in 460nm
8 White LED in 2700k
2 White LED in 5500k

All beam angles are 90 degrees, but I should of got the IR and UV at 120 degrees :(. No biggie though since I don't keep my panels that close to my tops. Anyway just turned it on and while it didn't turn my tent into an Easybake oven, it did shoot my temps from 78 to 82. Not too bad really and hopefully I can just tweak the vent system to fix that.

Funny thing though, the first thing I noticed when I turned it on was how fuckin dirty my Blackstars are. All that white light is showing me how dirty my grow really is :-P

Nice panel fran.....First thing id do is pop off that glass cover...get those big diodes to do their thing in all their glory....(clean each diode w microfiber cloth/gently)

Yeah I've seen this panel before........just don't expect any brand name diodes on this (they will all be chinese (5w)//efficiency/lm equal to cree 3w(white))
but who cares at this price and a 5yr warranty!!

Edit: Does this bad boy have switches(veg/flower)on it???and what is the actual coverage area IYO....?

Thanks for the tip PSU. Didn't even occur to me to remove the glass :dunce:.

I didn't get any switches or timers on this panel but they are available. You can have up to three switches on this particular model.

Coverage I would say is just slightly less than 4'x3', but it's my first panel with 5's so it's a tough call regardless right now. I've got it about 26" above the canopy right now and it's seems OK.
And yeah, I'm not expecting any Cree-like performance on these diodes, so far so good though. They haven't killed any plants or exploded so I'm happy! :hump::)

Yeah, I guess it's inevitable that I do one. I could really use a critique of my grow style (SOG) and tent setup, plus I would really like everyone to see what this panel does, good or bad. But first I got some unruly Tangerine D's to finish off.

hello everyone, just purchased a secret jardin 4x4x7, for veg i will be using a BS240, and for flowering a BS500. my question is, is that enough light to cover that area or should i have purchased a BS600 for flowering. Also for veg would it make sense to add 4 90w to the mix. just made the order but i can call back by 5pm to make any changes to my order. can anyone help?

Why don't you just buy another BS240 and veg and flower with all three? One BS240 is cheaper than 4 BS90's I believe. Those three panels will start a healthy SCROG and should cover a 4x4 grow in a tent IMHO. Shit why not upgrade the BS500 too. That should lead to a great LED grow.

Good Luck!
