nice dude! I'm kinda in the same boat. i don't know if I've quite got enough credits for a full associates, but i am working on my bachelors in applied computer science...i have about a year left on my BS. after this semester. anyway i work at an apple specialist and i teach an orientation class to the mac os. and lessons on...computers in general. lol. macs mostly, but anyway...

i have a sick gaming rig with 2 EVGA gtx460's in sli, a third gt430 for physX, phenomII x6, 8gigs at 2133mhz...2 crucial 128gig ssd's in RAID 0...

Diablo III... Yeah... that was supposed to come out 3 years ago and every 6 months they release a new release date and then promptly postpone it over and over and over and over again. From what I hear they have really fucked it up - you can essentially paypal all of the best gear the day the game releases. So if you give blizzard $ you are good, if not you suck...

i need to order some ducting. went out today and standard for everywhere is 4" because thats the size of a dryer duct. might check my local appliance mom and pops store for something used, im pretty good at getting peoples junk (my treasures) for free if i look in the right place and give the right story.

im excited for you to get ur beans too. lol. i wana see how a tent works, and i am definitely still interested in an HPS system. cant wait to follow you along.

dude thats awesome including curing? I'm jealous start a new thread/journal for that one! i wana see that whole tent setup u got...definitely still thinking about a 400watt hps for my flower cab. i bet theres a world of difference. i kinda get the impression that not a whole lot of people are impressed with autoflowers...i mean they have advantages, but...lol hell thats just hearsay from a noob anyway! lol.

i want clones lol

stop by my thread man i got some pics up of the SEEDS!!!!!! lol not too interesting but whatevs. ill take a few shots right now of the whole tent setup so you can see it. i still have a few mods to make but my ladies are loving the new light....

i paid 200 bucks for the whole light setup, i posted some pics and shit of the tent light a few pages back in journal, not sure if you got a chance to look
shipping was free and i got a hood (of really nice quality in my opinion, it was not flimsy and seemed really sturdy.
2 bulbs 1 MH and 1 HPS. the MH bulb had some glass broken INSIDE the bulb but i think its still going to work just fine, if i ever even use it since the MH bulb is more fo vegg and i plan on vegging with CFL
ballast wich was nothing fancy, no knobs or on off switch just a basic ballast wich is fine by me because i have it setup on a timer anyways.
yo yo hangers wich were of shit quality and a timer wich i already gave away LOL it was also junk.

plants are looking good. you might consider topping those down a few nodes. take the tops, put them in some rockwool to keep them from wilting and dying, and label each one. throw them into 12/12 so they show sex and then you know which are males and which are females worth keeping. when you do your preflower pruning, make clones off of the lower branches you chop off and clone them. label which clones are from which plant. keep 1 or 2 of the healthiest clones from each female plant and keep them vegging while the recently pruned females flower. once you get close to harvest you'll have a good idea of which pheno had the best node structure, yield, quality, growth rates, etc. then single out the pheno you like the best and save the clones from that female to be used as mothers or your future grows. since you're growing from seed there's no telling what will be male or female and which pheno's will come through in your females. if you happen to get an awesome pheno that's worth saving and you have clones you'll be able to preserve the genetics. supplies you'll need are a tray and humidity dome, rockwool cubes or rapid rooters, cloning gel, pH down, pH tester, razor blade, and a little light. some thrive a live b-1 or hormex wouldn't hurt either. just my thoughts. i had a pheno of the strain jasmine once that was unlike anything i'd ever seen. i made the mistake of not taking clones from the females before flowering and had one amazing plant that i will never see again. i tried to put it back into veg by leaving some leaves and buds on the plant but it was unsuccessful, plus with that amount of stress it's highly likely that it could have ended up going hermie or altering the original genetics.

just my thoughts. lots and lots of thoughts. it'd be a shame to lose a great pheno if you happen to get one

matt i will definitely stop by both threads in the very near future. i definitely want to see that whole setup...probably end up getting something very similar in the near future here...

noman, thanks a bunch for stopping by again! awesome advice. here's where i am at though. i have two cabs now, one is 12/12 the other is 20/4. i got some clonex gel already, and do plan on taking clones. this IS my first grow though, and more than anything just wanted to see if i could even make it happen. my plan is, to wait until the 6 i have in the 12/12 cab show sex and then take clones off just the females and ditch the males. then i have 3 more in the 20/4 cab that are ready to switch over, so was planning on doing the same from them. then i would label the mothers and their clones, to track their phenos as it were, and go(grow) from there. i know this isnt the BEST method, but hey its a learning experience, and the 6 that are in the flower (12/12) cab have been in for just over a week now...

any suggestions based on this plan? matt? gas? all?

also, i have another 80 seeds or so that i can germinate and experiment with...although my babies DO have a really nice look to them, if i do say so myself! lol...TOTAL beginners luck

i think its a killer plan. as far as the seeds go , germ a couple more up and grow em out if you want. may find a better pheno may not.

by the time you take clones and seperate everything your big plants will have shown alread. hell im surprised they havent yet, i want some good pics of internodes soon :) remember males usually show first so be on the lookout for them pollen sacs AKA BALLZ!!!

hahaha yeah im lookn! lol...didnt check on em at all last night. excited for tonight! so it really doesnt matter if i take clones from plants in flower?

so i plan to put the clones directly in soil...is this a bad idea? and also right into the veg cab. it is pretty warm, and with them well watered the humidity is +-60%...

EXACTLY where are internodes? lol...NOOB! nodes are where the sideways branches come out, correct? ive taken pics of those before...lol. is an internode a node on a node? been awhile since bio...

I would use rockwool or rapid rooters. Reason being is that you can easily look at the bottom of the cubes or rooters to see if roots are popping out. They also are really good at retaining water. You want them to be moist but not soaking. I always notice that the cubes that are less wet tend to be the ones that root first. Just make sure they don't dry out or they'll wilt and die off extremely fast.

Nodes are where branches grow from the main stalk. Internodes is the stalk between nodes.
