Man what low lives doing that to you. Hope u don't mind me saying that. Living a life of infidelity courtesy of an injured vet. Shit... I'm sure most of us wouldve helped fuck him up had we been there. He's not all to blame though. Damn she moved fast though you weren't gone long she'd already got a guy and moved him in...
do/did you have parents around that could help you emotionally or financially? And how did the divorce workout? Surely they didn't entitle her to shit.
Good thing is you've found someone else so youre lucky in that respect. She's got her karma having the guys ditch her hope it was worth it. Your mutual friends must've sided with you surely?
yea they did at first. I pushed them away because they all knew what was going on and didn't deem it worth it to tell me. The funny thing is, the only thing I had left was a 1977 trans am that my grandpa bought brand new and I had to pay her half the value in the divorce. California is a non-fault state so it didnt matter that she cheated or took my money. Only thing she got stuck with is she used my checking account after the divorce so she got in trouble for check fraud, but as far as i know just ended up being a slap on the wrist. Never paid me back though for the bounced checks though. According to CA law money earned during marriage is joint money. Yea that guy got his ass beat a few times on my behalf lol. I was gone for 3 years, I never got the full story as to when she started with him, but my understanding is she had him living in my house before my boots hit dirt in afghan. I have great parents who have done all the can, especially emotionally. My parents have 2 other kids as well who are very young (now 14 and 12) so financially they weren't able to do much.
And yea, as much as I wanted to blame him, I know how guys are. If it wasn't him it would have been someone else. There is plenty of dicks looking for a open wet spot.
I try not to dwell on it, I was 18 and married, should have expected it to end in divorce. I have a great lady now who gave me a healthy boy to carry on my name and has helped me through some dark times. Lord knows after physical therapy I am about as friendly as a badger high on angel dust and pcp.
